"I should get you back now," Charles stated as, by that point, the sun had almost fully risen and a few people were walking the streets.

"Probably," Giovanna softly smiled. She stood up, gathering her things back into her handbag and slipping her heels back on.

Charles led Giovanna off the yacht towards his car and drove her through the streets of Monte Carlo with the early morning sun shining on the roads. Soon, Charles and Giovanna pulled up outside Giovanna's apartment block.

"I'll see you soon," Charles said as he kissed Giovanna's hand.

"You will. Let me know when you're free," Giovanna said, "See you later Charles."

"See you later, ma chérie," Charles replied before Giovanna kissed Charles' cheek and exited the Alfa Romeo.

Giovanna got into bed once she had a quick shower and slept for what felt like forever. She couldn't help but think about Charles. About how perfect he is. About how well they had gotten on. It was almost too good to be true.

Charles and Giovanna went on two more dates that week. One to the beach to watch the sunrise and one to his apartment. Charles had cooked her the most delicious three-course dinner and then they sat on his balcony talking for hours.

Later that week, Giovanna got a call from her mother. Basically a full-on rant about Giovanna leaving, her being a disappointment to the family and also saying that her Aunt Valentina had a heart attack, then promptly ending the call. She didn't quite know what to do so she booked a flight back to Italy.

After packing the essentials into her handbag, she text Charles, letting him know that she wouldn't be around for a bit. Charles rang her as soon as he got her message, hoping she was alright. After filling him in, Charles insisted on going with her, as her bodyguard and her friend, using that word loosely.

"You know you didn't have to come with me," Giovanna said as they sat found their seats on the plane.

"I did. You'd be lonely otherwise," Charles replied, "Someone's got to keep you entertained."

"You're just too cute," Giovanna said, "I didn't mean it like that, shit".

"Vanna, it's fine. You're cute too," Charles said, his cheeks brushed with a red tint. Giovanna smiled and laid her head on Charles' shoulder. Charles played with the ends of her dark hair, calming her down.

"I just hope Aunt Valentina is okay," Giovanna said once the plane was airborne.

"She'll be fine, she's a strong woman," Charles smiled, tracing circles on the back of Giovanna's shaking hand to comfort her.
