3am. Brian's Flat

*Phone rings*

Brian wakes up to the sound of his telephone ringing, he rubs at his eyes and leans over the bed and picks up the phone off the receiver and puts it to his ear.

"Hello, who's this?"

"Brian, it's Bill... Are you awake?"

"I am now, thanks for that.. anyway what do you want, it's 3 in the morning."

Bill speaks his next sentence with a shaky voice.

U-u-um, i-its

"Bill, are you okay man? Is something wrong, what happened?"

Bill is crying on the other line.

"Brian, CHARLIE'S DEAD!"

Brian's eyes widen a little bit, then he relaxed and chuckled.

"Very funny Bill, good joke."

"Brian, I'm not joking, he really is dead. he died just last night his funeral is gonna be held later on in the morning."

There is a bit of silence as a tear falls down Brian's face.

"Bill, tell the guys I'll be there for Charlie's funeral, but also tell them, I'd prefer to to be alone after that."

"Yeah, I'll tell then, goodbye Bri."

"Bye Bill."

Brian sets the telephone back onto the receiver and decides to get out of bed and go into the kitchen to make up some tea to get his mind off the news he'd just been told.

"I can't believe this, my one true best friend is gone. I'll never see 'em again."

And with that he quietly sipped his tea.
