Little Boy Blue (part 2)

Blue, ever so gentle

Asked the fille to play

But his request was dismantled

He was told 'go away'

Little Blue would go home

He'd be bruised and be hit

The marks of a home

That will never be missed

Boy blue came back

But did not ask to play

He was hit by the fact

Of the fille going away

The fille's light was flickering now

Her mother said to Boy Blue

And Blue didn't have the pow'r

To bring her back, new

...

My Blue did everything

He read me stories of gods

Of a hero, shining

Who would defeat all odds

We'd play together

Eat, sleep, repeat

We were attached with a tether

That nothing could meet

He never told me of fights

That scarred his home

He'd shut off that light

He made his high dome

But slowly did Blue

Fade away too

And all I could keep

Was his shirt, Hawaiian Baby Blue

****

In memory of Boy Blue.

The one that I knew

The one that loved food

And smiled for new shoes
