She sighed burrowing further into the thick blankets when her eyes flew open. Her dad! H-he tried to kill her! Quickly sitting up, her eyes scanned the room taking in her surroundings. The room had a modern natural holistic approach. The shades of browns, whites, black and splashes of green caused her to blink slowly. Her eyes trailed up the dark grey walls until she encountered vaulted ceilings. Wow. Noise coming from the balcony had her clenching the blankets closely to her chest. Someone was here! She tried to climb out of bed, but she was completely drained. Wait did her dad kill her? Suck her humanity away? Would her time spent in the mortal realm faded away into nothing?

She shoved the panic bubbling in her stomach away. It wouldn't do her any good. An aggravated sigh left her lips and the person on the balcony entered the room. Rosalinda slipped further under the covers until only her eyes were revealed. Yeah, that right. A thick blanket was going to stop the boogeyman from getting her. Ugh. She gaped as a young man came to the side of her bed, his familiar cyan blues staring worriedly at her.

"Dominic? Explain yourself," she demanded before succumbing to darkness.

"I want to come," the boy told the dark entity standing in front of him. He didn't understand his need to be near her, to protect her. He would be driven insane if left alone. The shadow flashed, reappearing in front of him so that their noses touched.

"Why should you, child?" he said his voice a whisper on the night crawling alone his spine and sending fear barreling through him. The young man's reflexes failed him. for the dark entity shoved its hands through his stomach and released a foreign agent inside of him. Infested, he collapsed on the ground blood exploding from his mouth. He heaved trying to drag air in his oxygen depleted lungs. Everything sounded muffled, even his own shortened breaths. As he laid there withering in agony as Death's glowing sockets stared at him, he couldn't help but think of his past actions towards Rosalinda. It was Judgment Day and he wasn't so sure he would pass. The longer he took to search his memories the more his life slipped away. The light got smaller, soon it was just a dot in the darkness.

When he came to, Dominic noticed he was in a cave of some sort. Moving towards the opening, his eyes crawled along the enormous mountains. Did this place form from these mountains crevices? That wasn't comforting at all. What if he was crushed into smithereens? He fought off a shuddered at the thought of being buried alive. He moved away from the cave opening, only for fear to strike him. He stood paralyzed staring at the darkness floating at the back of the cave. Why was he so scared? Shaking off his fear, he took a cautionary step forward. His heart hammered in his chest as his eyes darted wildly about. His teeth chattered not because he was cold but due to fear. Okay, good. Nothing happened. Taking another step forward, he became brazen with each movement, confidence pouring into him.

Suddenly, Dominic screamed. The sound exploded from his throat as something slimy and wet wrapped around his right leg. It jerked him, and he fell hard his chin connecting painfully against the cavern floor. His hands scratched at the ground, trying to grab onto anything to prevent the mysterious creature from dragging him further into its depths.

"No!" he roared, feeling his nails break and bleed. He was sorry! He didn't want to remember! "Please," he croaked when he felt a tentacle on each side of his temple. He wasn't ready. He screamed as the weight of his unsealed memories crushed him.
