I am a sunflower. I stand tall and strong and shine brightly, but never the first one picked. Not considered the flower for special events or to make someone's day. I am a trend. Temporary happiness. But when the thought of romance and love comes, you chose a Rose, I am used for brighter days and nothing more. This is the life of a sunflower, we're fun for Instagram pics and casual outings, but we never feel true love and glamour. No one sees us as beautiful, not when the Rose is the supermodel of flowers. Sunflowers are exiled to the friend zone and politely asked to stay there, because they are seen as pretty, but not pretty enough to be anything more. It's hard being a sunflower, we shine so bright and stand so tall we want to be noticed, but instead we settle for "we'll see"s and "maybe later"s expecting that one day the tables will turn and we will be the ones who have romance and special moments made for us.
