The sky is dark
The ground is bare
Breezes no longer but are
Icy cold shards of wind
That howls like a wolf in the
Glowing sunset. birds
are flying in wonderous
Shapes of V's, surfing
Through the clouds,
Disappearing. Winter is
Coming, I am sure of that.
1 week later...
Schools are closed
Snowflakes are figure
Eight-ing in the air
Slowly falling to the ground
Blanketing our poor, cold planet
Making snowmen. Some are big, some
Are small. Some with gloves, some with
Scarves. One with dads coat!
After making a new tribe, we make beautiful
Snow angels. Feeling the cold, crisp snow on
Our backs. boots making footprints on the
Ground. Making a "crunch" sound. We
Play and laugh until dark.
Sledding down hills, skating on frozen
Ponds, creating new stunts and "wow"!-ing
The crowd. "Time to go home!",
Mom shouts. We all come home one by one.
Stripping off our soggy clothes
And changing into our warm, soft pajamas
We snuggle around the warm, blazing fire
Sipping the delicious hot cocoa with marshmallows
Swimming in my mug.
When done, I run up to my room.
Snuggle down in my warm
Blanket. I close my eyes and drift off to sleep,
And Have wonderful snowy dreams.
