Complicated Goodbyes

Chapter 1- Aqua Sea Resort

I stepped foot into the lobby of the hotel I'd be staying at for the following 5 weeks and took in the beautiful surroundings.

"Welcome to Egypt," an unfamiliar voice greeted me and my parents, knocking me out of thought. "As you know this is Aqua Sea Resort, follow me."

Me and my parents were lead to the main desk where he gave us our room number and slipped wristbands onto us to prove we were staying at this hotel.

After sorting everything else, my parents decided there was enough time for us to go in the pool for a bit, if we could find any sun beds.

As I followed my parents outside, I realised how amazing this place looked. There were at least three pools for swimming in, then about 3 more for where the slides end. There were many slides of all different colours, at the end many people came flying out as a photographer stood at the edge, taking pictures. Many lifeguards surr- "Hiya, I'm Sam" another unfamiliar voice chimed into my thoughts, "do you need any help with anything, where to go, finding sun beds, what time the show starts?" he offered.

"Could you help us find some sun beds?" my mum questioned, as she looked around at all the occupied sun beds.

"Well I can't, aha," he paused "but I'll take you to someone who can", grabbing my arm he dragged me to a bunch of lifeguards, while gesturing for my family to follow. Sam began speaking to one of the lifeguards in a different language, which I guessed was Arabic, before the lifeguard told us to follow him. We were lead to some sun beds that already had a towel draped over the three.

"Wait," my mum started "These already have towels on," she gestured to the towels.

"No, no, these.." he tapped the towels" are for me, I put them on.. To save for other people." he explained, taking a few pauses as he thought about how to explain in English.

"Thanks," I said, while shaking the lifeguards hand. He wasn't bad looking, he was wearing mirrored glasses and had pearly white teeth, with a cap sat on top of his head.

"I need to leave now," he told us "I need to work." Before we could say bye, he was already jogging to one of the pools about 3 minutes away.

After going to the toilet and putting my bikini on, I walked over to our sun beds and lay myself down, we was only going to be here for about an hour and I just really couldn't be arsed putting suncream on. I made sure the sun bed I was lay on was in the shade, before putting on my sunglasses and starting to relax.

Just as I was about to drift into dream land, a sort of familiar voice brought me back into life "Water fight in about 10 minutes, all animation team, lifeguards and bar staff will be involved, you'll join in right?" I snapped my head up to see Sam stood at the end of my sun bed.

"Huh, yeah," I agreed, even though I wasn't really sure what I was agreeing to,

"Great, come on, you can meet the rest of the animation team before it starts," he laughed, putting out his hand to help me up, "what's your name by the way?" He asked,

"Jess," I said

"Nice."

The small hut where the animation team stayed wasn't that far away and as soon as I walked in everybody looked confused, as if this wasn't common. Sam stepped in front of me and cleared his throat, "This is Jess, Jess this is Toosha," he pointed to a man in his late 20's- early 30's "This is Nino," he pointed to a man in his 20's he had a mischievous, cute face and an Afro. "This is Mario," he pointed to a man with a cheeky face and short hair. "and this is, Lucy, Ellen, Julia and Edan" he said pointing to 4 girls, the girl he called Lucy had blonde hair and a cute chubby face, Ellen bad finger hair and freckles, Julia had brown hair which was up in a ponytail and Edan had brown hair and was half cast. Everybody greeted me and I noticed how all the male animation team were Egyptian, yet all the females English. "Hi," I smiled at them all, feeling nervous,

"Like said, I'm Nino", Nino stepped forward offering me his hand to shake, just by him saying one sentence, it was obvious he wasn't as good as English as Sam.

By the time I said hi to everyone and got to know them a bit, it was only 2 minutes until the water fight was starting, they gave me one of their spare water guns and ran outside of the hut "ITS ON," Sam screamed, before being splashed by many people. That's when straight away, I knew I'd enjoy this holiday.

Ok so this was really short, but on my phone it looks like I've done loads and I don't think it really matters considering nobody's going to read this. I'm only writing this bc I really miss being on holiday atm, and obviously when I was on holiday it didn't go like this, but I took some of the names of the animation teams and their appearances"
