DANGEROUSLY
[present day, Daoming Group, afternoon]
His secretary ran out crying, again.
Daoming Si could care less about how his workers felt. None of them mattered. Everyone in the building should be used to his yelling and demeanor.
It was a typical day in the Daoming Group, which is under the young man's care. He finally took the position as chairman since five years ago. His mother couldn't be happier that he finally acknowledged his true future. But that didn't change their relationship - as she was still distant.
Daoming Si could care less about that as well. He didn't take charge to please her.
"Daoming Si," one of his workers said politely as to not trigger the man, "your friends are here."
Without a reply, the rest of F4 entered his office.
"How's your day been, man?" Meizuo asked.
Si just tapped his foot, not giving an answer.
Huaze Lei rolled his eyes and took a seat, "This act again?"
Si just glared at him and stood up, looking out his window. "Do you know what today is?"
The three knew very well and felt very uneasy. Today marks an unfortunate anniversary concerning his beloved Dong Shancai - the woman he can never forget.
"Are you ever going to visit - "
"Shut up," Si growled. "You know better than to ask me that. If you're going to go, go by yourselves."
Ximen crossed his arms, "You know we can't go without you. It wouldn't be right."
[flashback]
"Daoming Si, just leave. She's not here."
"Bullshit!" the young man took a plate from the table and threw it at the wall, making the parents jump in fear. His friends had to hold him back from causing any more damage.
Yue stood her ground, not going to fail her daughter's request. Shancai left the country because of him - because of his family. No way in hell is he ever going to search for her. She'll do whatever it takes.
"You caused her nothing but pain," the woman stated. "You and that wretched mother of yours."
Si tried to fight Ximen and Meizuo's grasp but failed.
"You don't understand. You don't understand how much I love her, and she loves me too, I know it! What kind of mother would hold her daughter captive?"
Yue walked up to the young man and slapped him, and it grew quiet. Si breathed heavily, not wanting to look at the older woman.
"I'm a better mother than yours. Daoming Feng has been torturing my daughter for months and months and what have you done? You say you would fix it, find a solution, but your words mean nothing," she spat, tears rolling down her face.
As soon the hold on Si softened, he pushed the two off of him.
"Daoming Si," DaNian finally spoke, "please go home. There's nothing for you here."
"I'm not leaving until I see Shan - "
"She's dead!" Yue cried.
And just like that, Si's world shattered.
[end of flashback]
Daoming Si could remember that day all too well. Her mother explained how she couldn't handle the threats anymore... and so she killed herself.
