Naruto opened the door of his house and entered. He all but fell to the floor and took off his shoes, putting them away properly. If it were the 12-year-old Naruto, he would have just thrown his shoes from his feet and walked in, but he wasn't the carefree genin he used to be.
He was Naruto Uzumaki, the 7th Hokage of Konoha, the child of prophecy, and the hero. He was much more responsible now. After all, he had a village to run.
He got up again and walked slowly to the bathroom and did what he had to do there.
He dragged his feet to the living room/ kitchen.
There she was, again. Sleeping in a chair that was less than comfortable to sleep in.
Her beautiful hair was like a curtain of indigo, hiding her face from the view.
Naruto just stared. He stared at his wife, the woman who had fallen asleep waiting for him to come home safe and sound. But he was late.
Again.
He couldn't remember the last time he had actually held a proper conversation with her, or even kissed her, much less sleep in the same bed as her.
He lifted her in his arms and took her to their room. It would be the first time in a while that they would sleep in the same bed, together.
Her face was so peaceful when she slept, like an angel.
This was the woman he wanted to love and cherish for every second of his life, Hinata Uzumaki.
But he didn't.
He loved her with all his heart, yes. But he always forgot just how important she was. She was the light that illuminated his life when everything was turning black.
Sure, he was surrounded by his friends that loved him, but the love Hinata showed towards him was something else.
She loved him with all her heart, and he could never doubt it.
But how many times had she thought that he didn't come home because he didn't love her and their children?
Naruto laid Hinata in their bed and covered her up. He laid beside her after changing into much more comfortable clothes.
"Good night Hinata. I love you very, very much. Please forgive me." Naruto kissed her lips before falling asleep.
"I love you too, Naruto... Ah!" An almost silent gasp left her and she fell back on the bed, in a peaceful slumber.

"What do you mean she's... !?" Naruto yelled at Sakura while tears flowed from his eyes. He couldn't even complete the sentence.
"Naruto, please calm down. Its hard on everyone, especially on your children. You have to stay strong for them!" The medic put a hand on his shoulder, crying.
Naruto slid against the wall, his face in his hand and sobs wracking his body.
"Naruto, go home to Boruto and Himawari. You are their rock from now on." Sakura sternly said.
After some time, Naruto got up and trudged back to his house.
How was he going to face his children?
Just as he opened the door, he heard loud cries from the living room.
Himawari.
Naruto ran in the room and hugged both of them.
Even Boruto was crying.
They loved their mother with all their hearts, but now, she was gone.
"D-daddy... m-m-mommy. She's d-de ahh!" Himawari cried into Naruto's chest.
"I want her back! Come back mommy!!" The little girl continued crying.
"Its all your fault..."
Naruto looked at his son. He was whispering something, each time more loudly.
"It's ALL YOUR FAULT YOU BASTARD!!!!" Boruto yelled in Naruto's face. Boruto punched Naruto's shoulder as hard as he could, and Naruto didn't stop him.
"I know. It's all my fault. I'm a bad father and a bad husband. Because of me, your mother, Hinata, shes..." Naruto couldn't finish his sentence, it was impossible.
"I HATE YOU!" The blond ran upstairs, leaving his crying father and sister behind.
"D-daddy. I want my mommy back. Please bring her back daddy! You're a hero right!? You can do anything! So please bring mommy back!" Himawari excitedly said.
Naruto was heartbroken.
How can a child be so innocent and pure?
"I'm sorry Himawari, I can't bring your mommy back. I can't do that my angel, my princess." Naruto hugged the girl and they both cried to their heart's content.
"Its all my fault. It's ALL my fault."
Naruto lived with the guilt of murdering his wife, not physically, but mentally.
She was a good hider. She never let anyone know if she was in pain. She kept strong for her family.
But secretly, she was having heart pain.
At random moments, a peculiar pain appeared in the area around her heart, making it so that she could only breath slightly through the nose, and if she took a deep breath, it would hurt a lot.
But then, that night, that fateful night,
She died from a heart attack.
"I'm sorry, Hinata..."
Naruto Uzumaki lived with the guilt of killing his wife because she had to provide for their children in areas he didn't have time to.
But she died with honour.
Lady Hinata Hyuga Uzumaki, first lady of Konoha, wife to Naruto Uzumaki, mother to Boruto and Himawari Uzumaki, friend to all, the kunoichi who was discarded by her father as a little girl, but worked hard and proved everyone wrong, finally dying from a heart attack.
May your soul rest in peace and your story be an inspiration to many generations.
