Narrator's P.O.V.

*Static*

The radio in the car goes off of it's usual songs and brings news about something happening downtown.

The young woman driving the car was about to turn it off until the radio rang a noise only used when an important event happens.

"BREAKING NEWS." The radio rings out. "The trial of Andy Rieler is about to happen downtown at the courthouse. Make sure to get there before the doors close to make sure none of his fellow hellspawn arrives to try and help him out of his deathbed. That's right, you hear me. The trial of Andy Rieler is happening today; the very same day the first ever witch trial happened. It's been centuries since the first one started and we're still honoring it today by getting rid of the hellspawn we call WITCHES. Now make sure to-" The young woman in the car turns of the radio, as if to shut the person on the broadcast up.

"This act is inhumane. No one should be treated that way.....Even if they're a witch, or any other magical creature for that matter. They should at least have a fair trial." She complains, turning the radio back on. Now to only hear the songs that were once on but cut off by the "announcement".

The woman continues to drive off, unbeknownst of how much power words can really have.

For you see, the woman was trying to be strong for her self and her husband. Her two year old daughter was in the hospital, bed ridden with leukemia. All she wanted was her child to be safe and live to see something other than a hospital room.

But you see.....Someone was listening to that woman one day, planning on ruining her. But they were moved by the woman's words....

So....

They granted her wish.

Even if she was married to the most dangerous witch hunter around.

That night, the witch went into the little girl's hospital room and cured her.

But they didn't know that the woman was watching from afar.

As they turned around to head out...The two made eye contact.

"Why? You must know who I am...So why did you heal her. She's the heir to the legacy....Yet you heal her?" The woman asks, still making eye contact with the witch.

He chuckles.

"Because....You'll understand later.." He looks back at the little girl and sees her skin is already getting its color back. "I see that she doesn't have a name yet? She's already two."

"My husband.....We decided that we should wait.....In case.." The woman looks down at the floor.

"I see..."He continues. "I have to go...I don't want to risk running into.....him."

He walks past her and slips something in to the woman's pocket.

"Thank you." She mutters, heading over to her sleeping daughter.

"Bitte." He replies.

The next morning, the woman and her husband get a call from the hospital notifying them that their daughter has woken up. They explained that they didn't know how and they she must have a very strong immune system.

But the woman knew....She knew that it wasn't a miracle. She knew the truth.

The couple rushes to the hospital and goes into the room of their child.

They hug her while the doctors ask what they want to name her.

The woman then checks her pocket.

"How about Murphy? Or Olivia! Those are wonderful names! Stella? What do you think?" The young man says, turning towards his wife.

Stella reads what she finds in her pocket.

Fluss

-The man who healed your daughter.

"Stella?" The young man asks his wife.

"River....Lets name her River." Stella replies.

"That's a beautiful name." Her husband replies.

"Yes...It very much is." She says back.

The couple hugs their daughter once more and the doctors and nurses head out.

Leaving the new family alone for a bit.

~20 years later~

River's P.O.V.

I open my eyes to see my cat looking at me.

I chuckle.

"Hello Zemi." I say, sitting up and pulling her into my arms.

"Meow." She replies with a purr.

She jumps out of my arms and I get ready for work. I watch as my grey cat sashays away over to her water bowl.

I put on my uniform for the cafe and look in the mirror to make sure everything is on right.

While straightening out my shirt I notice my hair is starting to turn black at the roots again.

Why is that?

I wonder to myself.

It's happened before, but I still don't know why it turns black yet after a few days it turns back to the light brown it originally was.

I ignore it and head outside my room to grab something for breakfast, while filling up my cat's food bowl in the process.

I grab my keys and head out to my job at Astral Bakery.

"The moon's still out?" I ask myself, walking over to my car looking up at the sky where the sun should be, but instead has the moon occupying the space.

I get in my car and start up the engine. The hot air blasts in my face making me want to be back in my warm, comfy bed.

Before I start driving, I get a phone call so I answer it.

????: "Hey so you gonna come and get my order or what?"

River: "Pfft can't you just order it from someone else?"

????: "Nope, because there is only one person taking the orders and she's kind of a bitch and since you're not here to prevent me from slapping her across the face,  I'm not going to risk it."

River: "You only want me there to prevent you from hitting someone?"

????: "AND TO TAKE MY ORDER!"

River: "How considerate...."

????: "I know right."

River: "Y'know I don't really feel like coming into work anymore."

????: "BUT RIVERRRR!"

River: "BUT THORNEEEEE!"

Thorne (????): "Oh come on! Just let me order my scone and tea from you, ya aspen."

River: " Pfft fine. I'll come in but I gotta hang up then because I don't want to die in a car crash."

Thorn: "Pfft alright. See you in a bit."

River: "Bye."

Thorne: "Bye."

I hang up the phone and take myself out of parking and I start backing up.

I head out of my apartment's parking space and start driving down the road and taking a couple of turns to arrive at my destination.

Hopefully I get there before Thorne decides to attack someone.
