It was a nice night that night. Light fog touched the ground leaving the cement moist to the touch. The trees lightly swayed in the semi wind. The moon was partly blocked by grey clouds that were scattered upon the starry sky. Valador and I walked, without touching, to a restaurant downtown about ten minutes from my house.
"The moon looks beautiful tonight, does it not?" Valador asked, moving closer to me. I lightly shuddered to the feeling of his closeness, but didn't move away as it didn't make me uncomfortable.
"It does... Probably the reason I am so calm," I replied looking up to the sky. I felt his hand grasp mine and I stopped and looked at him, he looked down into my eyes.
"I won't hurt you Emily. Never in an entire Vampire lifetime would I ever hurt you." He lightly grasped my face with his free hand and placed a light kiss on my lips. It took my breath away; I felt my cheeks brighten with shyness and pleasure. I thought of pulling away, but my body gave in to another feeling and leaned into him; my free hand reaching up to his face, my lips falling into his, my eyes closing so as to experience the full form of wonder.
It seemed to last years, that light kiss, and when he released me, he looked at into my eyes as I did him and I saw an emotion I could only describe as love. I was speechless and shy. He stroked my cheek and grabbed my hand leading me to downtown. All I could was look down and touch my lips with my fingertips so as to feel the still vibrant tingle of his kiss.
