(Planning to draw out pictures in the future to give more of a hint in what's happening so far)

The allosaurus now had a primary target in mind, which was the juvenile apatosaurus. The sun still wasn't fully out but the sky grew from a hellish orange to a brighter gold. Crouched down and moving very serpent-like slowly through the bushes with his head facing the juvenile, he kept himself concealed in the treeline, stealthily striding towards his victim. He had gotten to a point to where if he advanced anymore, he would be exposed and it could potentially ruin his hunt. The carnivore had to decide if he should wait for the right time or to risk it all and charge at the young apatosaurus now.
The adults were still far at the lake, oblivious of what's going to unravel. The juvenile was now grazing halfway between him and them. He had thought about it for a few minutes while keeping an eye on it and figured that it was close enough for him to attempt an ambush. The ready allosaurus had then started creeping out of the forest, keeping his body flat but staying at a reasonable pace. None of the adult apatosaurus have noticed him yet which is relieving but also leaving the situation very tense.
He was nearing his prey, slowly getting faster until he was basically running at the apatosaurus. It had spotted him almost instantly and quickly maneuvered the other direction. With his forearms stretched out and ready to grab, he lowered his head and opened his gaping mouth revealing dozens of sharp and serrated teeth. Determination and instinct was now driving the allosaurus into an urge to kill. The apatosaurus let out a dreadful whine which notified the adults while the allosaurus was easily gaining speed behind it. The adults realized what was happening and stormed towards the juvenile as fast as they could, it's too far for them though. The allosaurus finally had gotten right behind the apatosaurus and with his mouth opening as wide as it could get, swung his top jaw into the apatosaurus' back like a hatchet and biting, having an effort trying to latch his jaws securely on it. He also used his claws to try and subdue the small sauropod by cutting into the sides of it and gripping. The apatosaurus huffed in pain but did not give in just yet. Another swing from the allosaur's skull bites down into the apatosaurus again but into the juvenile's long neck this time and finally brings it down. To his surprise though, the thundering adults have arrived just after he had killed off or at least injured the juvenile. They crowded him and his new kill, making threatening grunts and getting on their hind legs to scare him off. He roared at them and resisted with blood still on his teeth and claws. He tried to stand his ground but they got closer. They were just holding back so that they don't hurt the young apatosaurus more than it is. Feeling intimidated, he backed away from the limp juvenile still snapping and roaring at them. He then made a hasty flee before the situation escalated more than it already was. The hunt was a failure. Life as a predator isn't easy but at least there's more prey somewhere else. (To Be Continued)
