~(Y/N) POV~

The Government has been making us go to our Pro-carer every month, because of the recent events of the monsters coming back to the surface. A Pro-carer is supposed to be our other parent, a godparent, but mainly they're our doctor. So now because of the new laws our check-up are a lot like periods. We don't get to chose when it comes nor have it and it's very much hated. X-Humans, so what are we? To some humans we are test subjects that are either successful or failed. To others we are a waste of space. To the Monsters, well they don't really know of us, I think they forgot about us throughout the years though.

I go and get a check-up on my powers and forms and stuff. I, for one, know I'm hard to work with, I mean come on I'm of the first ones to be made, which was hundreds of thousands of years ago, so my chip is old and small so it's hard to fix time to time. I try my best not to be a burden on my Pro-carer, Cindy.

"Stop it!" Cindy yelled at me through the glass window to the testing room. Where I reside. I'm still trying my best not to be a burden.

I just titled my head at her in question.

"Messing with your souls! Keep them in one place!"

"...Oh." I silently pout this. I couldn't help it though! They are so cute! I mean come on their not like a human or monster souls, the normal heart, they are small elementals; like a small flame and an water drop.

"Geez, I know you got bored with waiting like this. I'm sorry. I just can't fine the dang thing!" She heavily sighed while looking down at her papers. Now that I look more closely, I noticed that she does have quite the stack of papers on her desk.

"Maybe she got assigned more X-Humans." Nicole suggested to the rest of us. I could feel the others nod in agreement.

"Not our fault though." Rose piped up after seeing Cindy groan in frustration, and throw papers on the table.

"You should be nicer about this. We are one of her patients, Rose."  Sunny scolded Rose for her behavior about this matter. As usual of Sunny.

"Oh will you shut it? Ya rain cloud." Rose fired back at her. Oh? That's...not new.

As they both continue to bicker at each other I see Cindy's face light up.

"Hm seems she found what she was looking for."  Nico voices his thoughts aloud and clear as Cindy makes her way towards me.

"That she did." I voice back to him while waiting to see what Cindy has in store for me this time around.

"Okie, I'm going to insert your chip, so head up plex." Cindy has my chip in her small hand, which has lots of bandaids on them. I notice this and look at her with concern in my eyes. She notices my stare and looks at her hands. She looks back at me and gives a small smile. "Hey it's okies. It's not your fault that your chip is small. I'm happy to help you. My hands are fine, just think of it as a small price to pay." She winks at me because of that sad pun to try and cheer me up. And it kinda did.

I saw her cat, Zobo, walking around and thought of a pun. To give her and cheer her up as she did with me. "...That's...purrfect with me." I rolled the "r" as I go to pet Zobo.

She grins at me and taps the bottom of my chin to silently tell me she needs my head to tilt back, so that she can put my chip back for me. "I love how you get me purfectly." I giggle at her. "Alrighty! I'm done with your chup. You can see what's new on it while I go and get the last test started!" I nodded as she started walking off.

Looking off into the distance I open my chip. I blink and see hologram like things pop up around me. As well as the four little souls inside me begin to take the form of a person

"I got an update." Nico sounded quite happy about that.

"What is it about?"

"Poison. We can now breathe in and out poison. As well as chemicals. Nice."

"I swear you're crazy. I love it."

"Sunny?"

"Yes?"

"I thou-"

"That I would disagree and be like 'Oh nature and earth!~ It must be preserved!' Nope! Poison is apart of the earth so I would actually recommend it."

And everyone just screams. Saying things like 'Oh my God!', 'She told you!' And 'Wait where've you been?'

"...Did anyone else get something?"

"Fuck Yeah! I got some! I go-" Rose didn't get to say what she got as Sunny and Nicole cut her off.

"Some?"

"The fuck?"

"Yes! Some! Nico!"

"Yeah. Yeah." Just then a small fire popped up in my hand. I looked at it confused. "Hold on (Y/N)." Then the small fire started to twirl into a small fire tornado.

"...Nice."

"Alrighty that just makes my job easier!" Cindy screams from her desk making me stop my little fire tornado in my hand. I look up at her to see her happily dancing around and making her way towards me. "I'm all done!"

I just look at her confused. These kind of things take much longer than this. "Test?"

"Hm?" She looks at me for a bit trying to figure out what I meant by that. "Oh! No. No more tests. Not today." She looks down and grabs my hand. "The last test was to see if you could access your new updates, but I just saw that! So! No test!" I gently smile at her and go to get off the testing pad I'm on. Once she sees this she quickly moves out of the way. I simply nod at her.

As I'm leaving Cindy pipes up. "Hey, (Y/N)!" I look back at her in question. "I just want you to know that..." She trails off and fidgets in her place.

Nervous

"I uh just wanted you to know that I'm happy that you're still here." I'm confused. What? She's happy I'm still here? Did something happen? Is something going to happen? She brings me out of my thoughts with her sigh of frustration. "Just yeah forget it." I smile and nod at her as to say it's fine, and with I leave her in her little lab.

Cindy: 24 years old, 5,3ft (short lol) has baby talk(so yes the "grammar errors" are there for a reason)
Tip to know: Cindy has only three other x-humans under her care.
