Chapter 1

(No-one's p.o.v.)
This is the story of a fantastic survival of a teenage boy named Alex Richards. When everything hits the fan, what will he do to make sure the people he cares for survives? Find out now!!! Let the story begin!!!

~Prologue Start~

(Alex's p.o.v.)
Everything was dark. How did I get here? It's so cold and dark. I felt water all around me, but I wasn't drowning. How was this happening? Oh I remember, but how did I get here? Where is everyone? The memories came flooding back and I remembered everything and my head started to hurt. Guess I should start at the beginning, huh? Well it started like this....

~Three Years Ago~

(Alex's p.o.v.)
I walked around the fifth floor of the high school as classes were in session as I didn't care as I walked up the stairs to the roof and went out the door and looked out over the city to see smoke coming up from there. 'What's going on over there?' I questioned myself as I heard yelling as I looked down to see my sister and friends being pushed by big government guys into black SUVs. "You can't leave him!" My sister, Serra, yelled at the four men. "We have no time the plane will make contact in twenty!" One of the men yelled as they were put into the back of the two SUVs as the four men got into the fronts of both. 'Wait did he say plane?' I asked myself as I looked up to see the nose of a plane coming toward the school. "Dammit!" I yelled as I ran across the rooftop toward the door as the plane made contact with the school as an explosion threw me into the wall next to the door as I fell to the ground on my back as I felt a liquid on my face and hurting so bad as my eyes closed as I blacked out.

~Time Skip~

(Douglas' p.o.v.)
I looked at the captain as we made it to the location of the plane crash. "Y'all listen up our orders are to search the building bottom to top for equipment and test subjects files for the smarties over at GED." The captain said as the armored truck came to a stop. "Remember your training and you might make it out alive and not become food for the undead!" He yelled as my squad yelled yes sir to him as we started pouring out of the truck onto the street in front of the old school. "Stay frosty." The captain said as everyone got in positions at windows and doors ready to enter as I notice that there wasn't a trace of undead anywhere. We entered the school to the smell of blood and scenes of carnage everywhere. "The hell happened this couldn't have been done by just the plane." One of my squad mates said as I looked at the face of the captain as it was grimacing at the scene. "This is the work of the undead." The captain said as my squad looked at him shocked. "You were serious about them eating people?!" One of my squad mates yelled as we heard groaning and also a heart stopping scream as we point out guns at the hallway it came from as it was to dark to see down it. "G-guys help." One of the members of one of the other infiltration teams said as he came out of the darkness as he was covered in blood and had his left arm missing. "Weapons free the place is crawling with them!" The captain yelled as he shot the guy with his pistol as undead emerged from the darkness as we lit them up. "Remember the mission!" The captain yelled as we ran over to the stairs leading up as we went up them as one of us got our leg caught by one as he was pulled down into the crowd of undead screaming. We ran down the hall of the second floor as we encountered more undead as we shot them dead losing another soldier. "Entrance to the plane we need is on the next level." One of the squad members said as we were running. "Forget searching just get to the plane grab what you can and get to the extraction point on the roof." The captain said changing the job we were sent here to do as we headed up again.

(Douglas' p.o.v.)
I burst open the door onto the roof as I looked to my left as I heard a groan pointing my gun to the noise seeing a boy there as I went over to him to see he wasn't one of the undead. "Captain we have a live one here!" I yelled over to him as he and the rest of the squad that was left was holding off the undead as they were at the top of the stairs. "What that's impossible there shouldn't be any survivors." The captain said as he looked shock as I heard a copter over head as I looked up to see the extraction heli landing as the two squad members ran over to it as they jumped on leaving the three others and the captain on the stairs as the other three got grabbed by the crowd as the captain looked back at me. "Get him on that copter now!" He yelled at me as I saw him get grabbed by the crowd as he was swarmed as I ran over to the copter as there was one or two undead running after me as I jumped on as the copter started to take off as the two squad mates shot down the two undead as they started to unload into the crowd that was starting to pour out onto the rooftop. "Dammit I didn't sign up for this." One of my squad mates said as he gritted his teeth as I looked down at the boy as I saw his arm was wounded from the quick escape as it was starting to close. "What?" I asked myself as the wound was healed completely. "What what?" One of the squad mates asked as I looked over at her. "His wound from just now healed completely." I said as we both looked shocked. 'What the hell are you kid?' I questioned in my mind as the heli made its way toward the GED compound.

~Present~

(Alex's p.o.v.)
I looked around as I realized I was in some kind of lab even with the lights off I could make out the silhouettes of science equipment. 'Damn what happened?' I thought as I realized I was wearing a oxygen mask which explained the ability to breathe. The lights came on suddenly as I closed my eyes immediately as I opened them again to see a man in a black suit standing there at the entrance. "How's subject Zero doing?" The man questioned the staff that I just realized was already in the room at consoles. "He's awake." One said as the man looked disappointed. "Put him back to sleep we have more tests to cover." The man said as I realized they were talking about me. "But sir it's been a whole 2 and half years also we don't have the right to hold a citizen and test them like this." Another said as the man drew a gun on them. "That was the old way of life." He said as he shot the scientist as he fell over dead. "Anyone else?" The man asked waving around the gun as I heard a gun shot as I realized the man wasn't holding his gun anymore as he was holding his hand. "Dammit, who do you think you are?!" He yelled at a group of masked people as they were pointing assault rifles at him. "We're the agents of Night here to take subject Zero off your hands." A woman said as the masked people started to gun down the scientists starting with the man. "Get him out of there." The same one said as another went over to one of the consoles and pressed a button as I heard beeping as the thing I was in came open as the water splashed over the floor as I fell down onto it. "What the hell is this about?!" I yelled as I finally could talk properly. "This is about the fact the GED was using you as research to bring a new age in this F-ed up world." The same person said as she took off her mask. "The name's Sandy I'm your new best friend in this god forsaken world." She said as she gave a genuine, but creepy smile as a bag was shoved over my head.

(Sandy's p.o.v.)
'Well that boy is certainly interesting, but why does the old man on top want him to fight tonight he just woke up.' I thought to myself as I chewed my thumbnail. 'Dammit whatever not my pay grade to question him.' I thought to myself as I stopped outside the new boy's cell. 'Shame I didn't get his name.' I thought as I nodded to the guard as he hit a button as I heard unlocking and a flop as the door began to open.
