Midoriya and the detective sat face to face with each other in the living room. The detective named Rin seemed to of made himself comfortable on the couch as he sat back relaxed and had his foot resting on the knee of his opposite leg. Midoriya observed his every movement from his seat of an arm chair. He watched as the detective open up a folder on his lap and move around a few sheets of paper and studied each small feature of the man's face as he skimmed over whatever was written on them.
He cleared his throat and Midoriya straighted up in his chair ready. "Midoriya," he began. "You look different than how I'd expected you to look." He smiled gently and Midoriya returned one. "What do you mean?"
"All I got to see was a picture of you when you were about five years of age you know. It was it your history file." Detective Rin said as he removed a few of the papers from the folder and laid the folder on the couch beside himself. Here we go. "At the time you were 45.5 inches, average height for your age back then. How tall are you now?"
"71 inches." Midoriya continued smiling as if interested in these questions. Can't be played.
The detective chuckled a bit. "Impressive. You're pretty tall, huh? A bit taller than me. I expected you to be shorter and a bit more... Distant." Detective Rin placed both his feet on the ground and leaned forward more, a more serious posture. He cleared his throat once more. "As I said earlier, I came to talk to you about a young girl named Yui, Yui Kodai. She went missing a few days ago. It was reported that you were with her for the most part before she suddenly vanished. I'm sorry to tell you this, but you are a suspect to her kidnapping." He paused to allow this to sink into Midoriya's mind, but the boy seemed unfazed. Pathetic. He just stared with a smile glued to his face. It was honestly creeping the man out a bit.
"Since you are, please understand we have to investigate the background history of each individual that may of possibly been involved." He glanced down at a sheet in his hands and read over it once more before speaking again. "There are a lot of holes in your history documents from before you were adopted by your current adoptive father, but so far from what is available, it seems both your mother and father were murdered in your own home." He continued reading over the page, unaware of the unsettling gaze peering into him. "Neighbors reported screams and loud noises and immediately contacted the police. Once there, a young boy, you, were found craddling your mother's disembodied head in his your arms sobbing. It was found out that your mother and father were attacked by a intruder who left them completely mutilated. You we're injured when you were found, but of course alive and immediately taken to the hospital. You were diagnosed with Psychological trauma." The detective looked up to check if the statements were stressing him out in anyway. All he saw was Midoriya nodding and his expressionless face. Empty eyes staring back at him focused. "After you were adopted, the name of a threapist was given to your adoptive father to take you to see every other day, right?" He asked wanting to get Midoriya to talk now.
"Yes, that's right. Now, it's once a week though. I've improved a lot." He said plainly. The man nodded. "Were you given pills?"
Midoriya shook his head. "Not really. Did have sleeping pills, but I didn't need them anymore." No.
"I see." He paused for a second to think before tossing a sheet of paper over onto the couch. "We're you and Yui together?"
"Yes, for a few days but it wasn't ment to be so I broke up with her. She was devastated and ran home crying. I was probably a bit too harsh.." Midoriya pouted. He noticed the man jotting down something on another sheet of paper. He was recording his words most likely.
The man's pen continued moving as he spoke. "When was the last time you've spoken to her?"
"Sunday. The day we broke up." He answered plainly.
"What was the last thing she said to you?" The detective asked. Midoriya thought for a while. "Hmm, I just remember her yelling at me and pleading when I left her." The detective nodded and began writing again. Every turn of his pen was causing an emotion within Midoriya to grow. It was aggravating him especially since he had no idea what he was wrighting.
There was a long moment of silence before the detective spoke again. "So Izuku," The boy's brow twitched. "What is if told you, I payed a visit to Yui's closest friend, Kendo, a visit and she told me something quite interesting about you?" The boy laughed. "I would believe it. Everyone says the most interesting things about me. Even so, if she told you something about me I doubt you'd tell me. It's confidential, am I right?" The detective started at Midoriya a bit puzzled by his response before laughing. He placed the papers back into their file before closing it and standing up. Midoriya got up as well. "What a smart boy! You really are somethin' special, ya know that!" He's laughs died to a chuckle as he extended his hand to the boy. "Well, that's all for now. I'll leave you alone for the mean time." Midoriya took his hand with a smiled. He followed the detective to the door where his adoptive father, Toshinori was waiting. The man shook his hand as well as he made his leave.
Once the door was closed, Midoriya made his way towards the back of the house, where the back door was. "Young Midoriya.." Toshinori spoke up. Midoriya turned his face toward him. A sad look was on his face as he asked, "Where is the girl?"
Midoriya faced him fully before speak with another of his signature terrifying smiles. "She's here." Then he turned back around and left.
