"Jackie watch out the ball is co-. . .never mind..." I chuckle as the rugbyball hits Jackie straight in the head. She groans as she rubbed the place the ball made impact and Sammy and I burst out into laughter. Jackie glares at us, which made it even funnier.

We were awkwardly standing on the field of East High, our school. The field under my bare feet irritated me, for it was wet from the previous nights rain.
We had so many memories here, even if Jackie and I have only been here for about a year...

"Hey did someone see where the ball went? It came over in this direction and. . .wait why is Jackie?. . .ohh sorry Jacks," says Bradley and he runs towards our little trio. He swiftly pecks Jackie on her left cheek and comes to collect his rugby ball. Jackie's face becomes tomato red with blush as Bradley walks away, kicking the ball with each step.

"When are you two going to kiss already!" screams Sammy and both Jackie and I turn towards him, shocked by his outburst.

Before Jackie can answer I chirped in to save Sammy from an awful speech,
"Wow I really thought that you were going to whack him or something?" I say, trying, but failing to protect Sammy, "You know, after he kicked you and stuff,"

Sammy, Bradley and Jackie, 3 if my best friends, yet none of us are alike.

Jackie, my best friend, is a short girl with very dark, shoulder-lenght hair tide into a ponytail. She had perfect teeth (thanks to her former braces) and her eyes were a light hazel-yellowish colour.

Bradley was 15, six months older than Jackie. He had long dirty-blonde hair with exciting green eyes. He was about a head taller than me.

Sammy was also 15, six months older than Bradley. He had light brown hair, lined with little stripes of grey. It fitted him. His blue eyes shined in the dim sunlight and he had a very goofy smile on his face. I scowled as he was also about a head taller than me.

And last but not least. . .Phoebe (me). I was the shortest of the group and had light brown, curly and very frizzy hair that came to my shoulders. I was 14, being about 6 months younger than Jackie and also the youngest of the group. My chocolate brown eyes often wondered to Sammy, as did Jackies hazel ones to Bradley.

"Well I didn't," states Jackie, clenching her fists. This was not going to end well...

"And so we all thought you will do it!" Sammy states, jokingly picking at Jackie. Her face becomes even redder than before and I take a step backwards, afraid of what would come next.

"And I didn't!" Jackie spits and I stifle out a laugh. She was funny when she was mad, no matter what she did/can do. Don't get me wrong she was very scary, I wouldn't be as brave as Sammy to try and push her. Funny, but scary.

"Woah woah Jackie it was a joke!" Sammy says, humor leaving his voice. He knows he made her mad. Slowly he lifts his hands in a surrender gesture, as if to say sorry. I still found it funny though, and couldn't stop laughing. Jackie gave me a death stare, but not even that damped my laughter.

"Well it was sorta funny!" I say, trying to defend myself. After a few seconds more of anger, Jackie cracked a smile though, which I mimicked. She couldn't stay mad at me long.

Bradley is still kicking the ball in the distance and I see that Jackies eyes wander to him. Poor girl and her crush. . .she wouldn't admit it but we all knew it. Even Bradley himself had the suspicion of my best friend liking him.

Sammy coughed lightly and I turned my head towards him. My heart instantly melted as I stared into his light blye eyes, causing me to look away quickly.
