chapter 7

You open your window to see Daniel standing there looking at the ground. You run downstairs, grab a jacket and open the front door. He looks up and pulls his hat over his eyes. He turns around and walks so you follow him.
"so.." he starts. "these past few days have been...."
"hectic?" he smiles. not a happy smile. A pathetic smile. A smile like the one where the Teachers tell you what you've done wrong. So not really a smile.
"yeah" he sighs. You keep walking on the streets. It's cold out. He stops and looks at you. "Follow me" he walks to a path that leads into a forest. You follow without saying a word. You walk for about half an hour just stepping on rocks and branches until you get to the banks of a river. It's beautiful. The water is luminous even if it's like 9pm. Daniel sits on a rock close to him and looks down at the floor, kicking a branch around with his feet. You sit and ask
"Wha- why'd you bring me here?" Silence. He doesn't answer immediately. He just looks up and shakes his head.
"You know, I really liked you." Oof. Liked. So it's 100% over now. You look down at your feet. You look up and bravely say.
"Yeah."
"Oh" you nod not knowing what to say.
"I- I- " he exhales "i messes up." You look up surprised by his response. " I- I mean it was wrong of me to shout at you today like I did and it was wrong to" he pauses and looks up at you "with grace." You nod not wanting to be reminded of that. You and Daniel Are surrounded by silence for a few minutes. You breathe deeply and murmur
"Yeah, me too" he looks up again wanting to hear more. " I ruined it all" you stand up and walk around " calling you those names was out of order. I'm sorry i-"
"It's okay." You look at Daniel and he smiles a half apologetic smile. "You were right. I was being a complete dick. I mean who, why would someone ever do that? You know? Cheat on a girl" you feel uncomfortable abording the subject but you don't say a word. "I know you're never going to forgive me but please know I was under alcohols influence."
"I know."
"You do?"
"Yeah." Once again none of you speak for a while. " not gunna lie, it's all 100% your blame." You smile. He lets out a chuckle and looks up biting his lip.

DANIELS POV
Wow. She's so beautiful. I hadn't seen her smile in 3 days. Oh these 3 Long days have been boring not being able to joke with her. I have my doubts. I don't think me and her and going to stay friends.
*end of pov*

"Look y/n" he pauses, hesitating on what to say next. "I, I-"
"I know" you interrupt. "Me too"
