Hi everyone :) this chapter should be interesting...

Btw, I know stuff is happening too fast. For now, I'm just writing my ideas. I'll edit the book later. Comment what you think :)

Chapter 4

Dane's POV

There was a rustling noise behind me. I was scared, but I had my knife. Slowly, I wedged it out of my pocket, and gripped it tightly. I turned around. I beheld a strange sight.

"Sadie?"

Maddie's POV

"Um, no. I wish I did." I responded.

If I told her the truth, who knows what she would do with it. I slipped my hand into the little hole where I'd stashed the knife. I felt the cool handle, and the sharp blade. Slowly, I retreated my hand out, and clasped them.

"Unfortunately I don't."

"Sucks. I could pick the locks, and we would be able to get out. While he was gone. Maybe something happened. We could make a run for it." Morgan said.

She had a point. Plus, Morgan knew how to pick a lock. I've seen her do it, along with a lot of other awesome things. I wish I was more strategical, had more skills. All I know how to do is bike and read a novel.

" Wait, you know how to pick a lock with a knife?" I questioned. Maybe she was going to use it for something else.

" Yeah. It's fairly easy" Morgan said, sighing. " Plus, we could use it for defense." She braided lock of hair. I knew she was thinking. " That dude looks like a kind of guy that would be scared if he weren't in control. You know, if someone had a weapon against him. He thinks we're harmless I bet." She unbraided a braid and re did it. "Although, we don't know what he's capable of."

I tried to analyze what she was saying. It had sense. But she was right. Who knows what our kidnapper could do.

"BUT, who knows what we could do..." She trailed off, more quietly, as if talking to herself."

"True." I responded. I tried to say something logical, but nothing came. I wanted to show my twin that I knew something, too. " We could hide under the bed, and spring out when he comes in, and then we'll make a run for it?" I suggested.

" that's not going to work. He'll see us. Plus, who knows what's up there. He could easily catch up with us. Duh. I mean, it, like, is his house, and where he lives. He could chase us down with his car." She said, mumbling calculations quietly.

Of course I was wrong. Because Morgan knows everything. She's smart, popular, and pretty. We're twins, but she's the prettier one. I was always a bit envious of her.

" We could use the bed as a weapon. It's a torture device either way. And while he's away, at work or something, we would pick the lock. We'll find something, hopefully. We'll run, go get help or something. Maybe even take his car."

"You think you know everything..." I sighed, angry. It wasn't her fault that I was mad. I just had to let it out.

"What are you pissed off about now?" She snapped, whipping around.

"I'm tying to contribute ideas, but you just wave them off." I answered, throwing my meanest glare.

"Psh, yeah. You contributed ONE, and it sucked." She responded.

" I'm trying. I'm trying to HELP." I answered. " you're the better twin. You are smarter, more clever, prettier, more popular and athletic."

"We look exactly the same. Also, you're the lucky one. You get good grades, attention form mom and dad. You're also older, and you are allowed to do whatever you want. And also, you're the one who's going to get the...nevermind. Forget I said anything."

I felt a bit happier that I had something, that she called me the lucky one. But still, she was better. I wondering what she was going to say, though. I'd didn't question further, though.

" We should just stop bickering, for once, and start thinking. Maddi, you SURE you don't by any chance have anything, even a pin, or a needle, something we could use to try and pick the lock. I'd prefer a knife of bobby pin, but whatever works."

"Actually," I sighed, " I do."
