The rain made the sky a dark grey as it drizzled down on the city streets. Kagami had forgotten his umbrella this morning since it had been quite sunny at the time. He zipped up his jacket as far as it would go and pulled the hood over his head. He walked away from the cafe, his hands shoved in his pockets.

The walk home was quiet, most people were in cars or taking busses since it was so rainy, but Kagami didn't have far to walk. His foot landed in a puddle and sent water splashing in all directions. He heard a tiny mew and looked around for where the sound had come from.

He saw a little cat huddled under a box on the street. She was mostly dry except for where the water from the puddle had splashed her. Kagami crouched down, looking at the cat. She was fluffy and black with the prettiest blue eyes.

"I'm sorry about that, little girl," he said with a smile and slowly reached out his hand to the cat. She flinched and scooted back a little bit, but once Kagami was able to start petting her head, she nuzzled up to him. "What are you doing out all alone in this rain?" He asked even though he knew she wouldn't answer him. He scratched behind her ears and she started to purr loudly. He noticed that she didn't have a collar. He slowly pulled his hand away and she let out a little whiny meow. "If you're all alone, want to come home with me?"

She didn't meow or anything, but he could see that she was shivering. He couldn't leave her out in this cold rain. He slowly reached forward. She backed up against the wall, but Kagami grabbed her and pulled her into his arms. She struggled at first, but Kagami tucked her inside his jacket to keep her dry.

He brought her up to his apartment, keeping her head tucked down since his building didn't allow unregistered pets. He fished his keys out of his pocket and her head instantly poked out of his jacket, looking down at the keys. Kagami chuckled, "Want to play?"

He quickly used his keys to open his apartment door. He brought her inside and locked the door behind him. She jumped out of his arms and started to walk around his living room in circles. "Let me get you something to eat."

He went to his kitchen, seeing what he had. He definitely wasn't prepared to take care of a cat. He was able to find some scraps that would be edible for a cat and put them in a bowl for her. He walked back into the living room, but she wasn't there. "Hey! Where'd you go?"

He set the bowl down in the middle of the floor in the living room. He went to the couch first, looking all over and under it. He didn't see her until he heard a little cat yawn. He looked up and lifted the blanket over the arm of the couch. She was already snuggled up there and glaring at Kagami when he took away the blanket. He chuckled and picked up the bowl of food, bringing it closer. "Hungry?"

Her ears perked up and she jumped up from her perch. She landed right in front of the bowl and started eating. He chuckled and stroked her fluffy, black fur. It was almost dry again already. "Hmm, you need a name... how about Sakura?"

She hissed.

"Don't like it?" He chuckled, it almost felt like she could understand him. "How about... Aoumi? Your eyes remind me of the sea."

She only flicked her ears in response. "Perfect." He chuckled to himself.
