chapter 10

Clarence's POV

It had been a week since Anaya had told me she was pregnant. I know I said I didn't want any dealings with her but a part of me felt bad. That is my seed in her, and I asked her to kill it. It was eating me up inside. I asked her to kill our child. I couldn't imagine how she was feeling. I stayed up thinking about the hurt she was going through. I couldn't sleep, but I couldn't give up Jada either. If she found out, I got someone pregnant behind her back.. then someone she doesn't care for? Jada would kill me. Tonight was the night of our first home game. My head wasn't in the game. I was currently in the locker room, jumping rope to knock my nerves off.

"You good bro?" Keith asked.

"Yeah I'm aight. Thank you." I lied my ass off. My best friend knew me better. Then the fact I hadn't told him I have a child on the way.

One of the twins also asked me if I was okay.

Dang was my emotions really showing this hard.

I walked out the locker room to fill my water bottle. I saw Jade.

"Good luck tonight baby. You got this!" Jada said, before kissing me in front of everyone.

I kissed her back.

"Thanks." I said.

I went back into the locker room, as we prepared for our tunnel the cheerleaders made. I was the first to run out, due to me being the captain. It was the first game of the season. I had to make it count.

The boys and I practiced our drills as March Madness blasted through the gym speakers.

Anaya's POV

Tonight was the night of our first home game. I was really excited. Even though I was down, because of Clarence. I had to let that hurt go. I needed to be happy and healthy for me and my unborn child. I was showing a little bit, so I wore Kaleena's varsity jacket, some ripped fashion nova jeans, with my Timberland boots and a black YSL purse my dad got my last Christmas.

I sat in the stands with Alyssa and Allison. I loved the twins, but I hadn't told them I was pregnant yet. I didn't want my AP buddies judging me. I didn't want anyone judging me to be honest. I didn't want anyone really knowing. It was their business not mine.

I went to concession and bought a Gatorade and some nachos. Lately, I had been keeping my food down, I was hoping I'd have the same energy with this concession food.

The game had started by this time, and we were 2 quarters in. We were down 10 points. For some reason, Clarence was off his game tonight. He wasn't making one shot.

There was 10 seconds on the clock, and Clarence had the ball. The crowd stood up screaming for him to make the three. He looked into the crowd, and we made eye contact. Clarence threw the ball and it bricked. The crowd screamed. Clarence just shook his head.

In the student section, every one was on his HEAD!

"Clarence off his game tonight."

"Clarence you ass!"

"What is in that nigga yo?"

"What bitch got him trippin like this?" Someone yelled.

I cringed. His dad was at the game and seemed super pissed. As soon as the boys went into the locker room for half time, Clarence's dad stormed behind him.

The cheerleaders came out and did their routine to In My Feelings by Drake.

Kaleena looked so cute. I added her to my story.

After the performance, she came up to me as they mingled in the crowd.

"You good sis?" She asked, before hugging me.

"Yep, I'm fine. Just me and my Gatorade." I laughed.

"Ya boy been off his shots tonight." Leena said.

"Girl right. I wonder what's into him." I said back.

"What's not into him?" I laughed.

After the half time, I mingled around and caught up with some of my other friends, since I had been gone for 4 days.

We ended up winning the game by 3 points. Thanks to Keith. He saved the boys tonight. Clarence finished the game with 9 points. Super embarrassing for his 32 points per game record.

I didn't stick around after the game, I got in my little Honda and drove home.
