"Happy birthday to you" I woke up to a chorus of voices singing to me, Rubbing my eyes then sitting up grinning excitedly.
"Happy birthday toooo yooouuu
Happy birthday dear Esssyyy
Happy birthday to youuu" They continued.
That's me, Esme Green. I've just turned 13 today! Can't believe it! The big double figure. I'm now a teenager Oh gosh. Ha, Gosh, George and Josh;) I'm a massive Jcat in case you haven't realised! I don't ship Gosh however, it's more Shellett to me. Anyway back to the point! I'm 13, I have long light brown hair, which I curl or straighten daily, I never have it natural! It's disgusting. I'm dying to dye my hair blue! Karen says I have to wait till I'm 14, Hey! That's not long now anyway! I have bright green eyes, which fade when I'm feeling down, which generally is all the time, and brighten and sparkle when I'm extremely happy! Like now, haha!
"Aw thanks guys!!" I shouted.
"You're welcome Hunny" Karen replies laughing.
Karens in charge round here. I know what you're thinking.. Why does she call Karen, Karen, not mum?
That's because I have no mum. My mum was stabbed to death in front of my eyes when I was 5 years old. By the man I'm supposed to call father, ha. He's no father to me. He's dead to me. From the age of 5 till 11 I was abused by that man. Every single way, emotionally, physically, sexually.. I only got raped 4 times a day! That was on a good day.. Sometimes, he got drunk. Really drunk. He'd bring round his mates, and they'd all... Yeah..
I finally got free though! A week before my twelfth birthday! I now live a care home, and to be quite honest I love it to death! My golden angel, my saviour was my teacher, Mr Lewis. I came into school with a giant bruise on my face.. My "dad" was on a bad day again;| When Sir saw me he immediately pulled me into his office.. I sigh remembering that day..
"Esme! what happened?!"
"Nothing sir, nothing it's nothing!" I panicked walking backwards towards the office door begging for a escape, a distraction, Anything but a explanation.
"The doors locked-"

"Listen Esme, I'm your tutor. I know you inside out. Please just let me help you" He says lifting my chin up so he could look into my tear filled eyes. "Who.. Who did this to you"
"My... D...d-"
"Dad" he finished for me. And that was the end of my nightmare! And the start of a whole new one..
"Essy no happy?" A little confused voice mumbles snapping me out of my daydream, I looked down to see Ashley looking straight back up at me with a pain filled face.
"No ashash! I'm really happy" I say picking her up into my bed with me before kissing her on the cheek and ruffling her golden locks.
"But your leaking" Ashley says confusedly wiping my eyes.
"They're happy tears baby girl, I'm happy to be with such amazing people here, like you my little princess" I say, tickling her sides causing her to burst into a fit of tears.
"HEYHEY enough of the soppy ness you're going to make me cry!" Chloe shouted causing me to giggle again, my Bestfriend is the best.
"Right BREAKFAST THEN PRESENTS GUYOSSSSS!!" Karen says pushing all the other kids seventeen-odd kids out of my room.
"Go on Ash! Pancakes on birthday remember!!" Causing a excitable little girl to rush out of my room in a blink of a eye.
