'twas the night before furry con and tortilla was thrilled. she had spent the past year designing a brand new fursuit that would finally be unveiled to the world. though she tried to get a good nights sleep, her excitement (and memories of every mistake she made in 2012) kept her awake. finally managing to fall asleep, tortilla dreamt of fucking a bear. as per usual. she's a furry after all. her fursona is a bear.
waking with a start, tortilla heard a crashing downstairs. she put on her fursuit, as she refused to be seen without it on, and ran down. she saw the back door thrown open and the kitchen a mess. she must have missed the burglar while putting on her suit; it takes her about half an hour. to make sure they were safe, tortilla grabbed the family rifle and slowly stepped outside. she scanned the yard and just before she turned to go back inside, she spotted a figure at the edge of the forest behind the home. she lifted the gun and fired three shots toward the figure. which is fucking dumb because that could've been anyone and anything what the hell tortilla.
tortilla waited for a few minutes and decided to go check on the person she had just shot as they were on the ground and not moving. she walked over and realized that it was her father, linguini. she heard footsteps behind her, panicked, and shot at the sound. when she went to investigate, she found this was her other father, tony. if tortilla wasn't already completely broken, this did it. she dropped the rifle and ran off into the woods. neighbors, after hearing gunshots, came to investigate. they saw tortilla running off into the woods and even though it was a purple bear on two legs and there was a gun on the ground, they all decided that it was a bear mauling that killed the couple.
no one really cared about tony and linguini, but the funeral was well attended because they were the parents of the president. tortilla, however, was not there. she didn't know that everyone thought it was a bear mauling that killed her parents. she thought she was on the run from the law. so that's where the story begins.
