Nobody knew what magic kept the mortals blind to magical beings. All except for sorcerers were invisible to humans, or at the very least the humans' perceptions of magical beings was warped. Nobody knew how this was possible.
But today, Master Uro was glad that that magic existed.
He gazed over his virtual war map. It was a massive map of the world, with ivory pieces representing his troops, and gleaming red pieces representing the nightmares. He could tap any part of the map to zoom in. Three ivory pieces were battling two red pieces. Abruptly, one of the ivory pieces disintegrated. He tapped that conflict. The map zoomed in. A shining sea of steel battled a ragged assortment of nightmares. Men and women in armor fought for their lives. Sword and spear and axe cleaved rotting flesh and scaly hide. Whip and mace and club battered limbs and mouth. Men and women died, falling to slashing claw and gleaming tooth. Beams of light flew, huge plants shifted, breaking the surface of the earth. Waves of water swept, flames crackled. And still, the sorcerous army gave ground, retreating, slowly but surely. Uro wished the Yetis were still alive. Their incredible strength would've helped here. Uro snatched up a phone, "Armatus, conflict at the foot of Sombre Hill. They need help,"
The living suit of armor responded, "Busy, Uro! Get Vivus."
Uro grimaced and put down the phone. Vivus was still busy, her troops locked in combat with an army of puppets and dolls. Uro looked at the battle field and spotted her. Beams of energy flew from her fingertips, turning bodies to ash.
The being that walked like Wan Sin, talked like Wan Sin, looked like Wan Sin- but was not.
Exitium/Wan Sin looked straight at Uro. She smiled. This was impossible. Nobody could tell when the war map was spying on them. Exitium/Wan Sin drew a gleaming sword out of a scabbard at her waist. She pointed it at him. An unspoken threat. When I become a full First, no one will be able to stand in my way. Not even the other three Firsts.
