Part 1: Introductions

I am happy citizen 62527. I was given my number at birth to avoid happy people feeling sad if I was unsuccessful during one of our annual purges. However, I decided to go as "Sean" because I didn't just want to be forever known as 62527. I am part of the majority of people left in this dead, depressing, polluted wasteland we call Earth; the happy people. We must wear a constant smile and never feel down, no matter what happens. And if you were ever caught being sad or angry, you were banished from the city where us happy people exist, and never let back in. You would die alone, surrounded by sad and angry people who want nothing to do with you. On the other hand, if you stayed happy you would remain that way in the city, a large walled off area in California where there's money, food, entertainment, and other things needed to live a life similar to how it was before humans were truly split up into different groups. Or at least, as similar as it can get without any emotion other than happiness. There is one thing we have that we didn't before though; purge night. One night a year, we leave our city to keep the populations down of the other emotion nations. It's truly the best night of the year. Unless you're me.
The problem I had, was that I was doomed to roam the empty wasteland outside of our (kind of) beautiful city. I was not actually happy. Which is why I decided to swallow my pride and illegally purchase antidepressants which I hid in a crack in my wall and took every day to not be sad and die alone. So I was able to do something great. I was already destined to participate in the purging of the other nations, but because I wasn't a happy person, I decided to try my best to save as many people as possible during the purges. However, sometimes I would get caught not immediately killing, and had play it off as if I was just waiting to kill the person I was trying to save. And it kept going on like this until now.
