Perception of Beauty

We were taught since we were little to believe beauty is on the inside,

That all of the physical faults had to be pushed aside.

But we all know in the real world we judged each other,

And the things we said hurt one another.

Some of us wanted to be someone else,

Since we grew up hating our own self.

We wondered what we looked like from everyone's eyes,

And we grew up believing our own personal lies.

And when someone tries to call us beautiful,

We just automatically think it's untruthful.

But in reality we really all are beautiful in our own ways,

And the thoughts in our minds are just a faze.

One day someone will finally break through the walls of self insecurity,

And will burn the stakes of hatred in a fire of fiery.

So try not to think of what everyone said all those days,

And just remember we really are all beautiful in our own special ways.
