Ice Heart
Chapter Two
That night I dreamt of my heart being trapped, captured between icicle bars, stuck in a world of uncomfortableness, I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, I woke up, panting, and wiping my tears away fiercly. In front of my face way a bearded man with ripped clothes and a ruck sack that stunk of beer and something strong, it was peppered with powder and stained with blood.
"Mornin' beaut, can I sell ya' summin?' What's ya' name, gal?" He murmered, his thick grey, musky beard twitching.
"Uhh, i'm Summer, close friends call me Sunny. W- what do you w-want?" I whispered, shaking as a bolt of fear darted down my spine like an eel.
"I'll call ya' Sunny then, since I think we'll be gettin' close." He paused... "Very close."
Tears streamed down my face, and the strong twist of bitter salt and sadness tinted the end of my tongue. Greedily, he plunged both his hands either side of my waste, and leaned closer. Uncomfortably, I pushed him away, grabbed my bag with shivering sweaty hands, and ran away. I pulled my long sleeves over my hands and dapped my tears stained face. They absorbed everything and went soggy.
I looked behind me and there he was, running after me. Panting and my pulse beating hard, my body kicked up in adrenaline, and I ran into a car park, and sat behind a car... I heard his feet hammering and his luring voice echo, bouncing off the cars into my ears- He wasn't far away...
"My dear Sunny, cummon' out to play..."
I shut my eyes tight and opened the velvet flap of my bag, inside was Moe, he glared at me, scared; his eyes full of fear, I squeezed his white mittened paw.
"Everythings going to be alright. I promised."
I shut my eyes again, and seconds later when I opened them again, he was there...
"Well hello again! Fancy seeing you here..."
He grinned, pursing his greasy peeling lips. My heart froze.
