Besides the rides in the mornings and the rides back to the apartment Victoria and Louis haven't talked much. They wake up at three, they greet each other good morning, he drives her, they say goodbye and at night when she gets off The Cartel, he is waiting for her outside to drive them back. It has nothing to do with Victoria avoiding him because she is not.... okay so maybe she's been avoiding him ever since that morning when she woke up with him on her bed. It's just... he is so nice and kind and sexy, ugh! She promised herself she will not act on her feelings or whatever it was that made her heart race.
This morning she wakes up in the wrong side of the bed, feeling angry, broken, confused. She puts on ripped skinny jeans and a blue shirt with blue converse. When she sees Louis walk out of his room dressed in nothing but his joggers she feels annoyed. "I'm taking the bus today, you can go back to sleep." She waves a dismissive hand his way.
"I'm awake," he puts a shirt on and grabs the car keys. "Let's go."
"Louis, I want to take the bus." She says walking passed him.
"I already told you that I'm not letting you take the bus at this hour cause it's dangerous."
She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, "And I told you that I can take care of myself."
"Just let me drive you." He says through clenched teeth.
She grabs the doorknob and opens the door, but Louis slams his hand on it making it close and she glares at him. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
"Me?" He raises an eyebrow, "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"I want to take the bus so let me go."
"No."
"Louis." She says in warning.
"I'll drive you so-"
"No!" She burst out. "I don't need you to drive me! I don't want you to drive me, Louis. I'm not a kid and I don't need a fucking babysitter so just leave me the fuck alone!"
He stares at her wide eyed, surprised by her outburst. She opens the door and walks away without saying another word and he doesn't follow.
"Your boyfriend didn't drive you today?" Paxton, the man Victoria babysits for asks her as he closes the door behind them.
"He's not my boyfriend and I felt like taking the bus today."
She feels his eyes on her. "Layla was up all night meaning you should be fine for a couple of hours." He places his hand on her shoulder and she looks up at him. "Rest, you look really tired."
She nods, "I will, have a good day."
After Layla's mother gets home, Victoria goes to Blake's Café where she takes after Nadia's shift.
"Hey, B.B."
She looks up from the counter and raises her eyebrows while a smile spreads to her lips. "Mike."
Mike is slim build, tall with brown spiky hair and dark blue eyes. He has been coming into the coffee shop since... well since the shop was opened, it's what he's told her. For the year she's been working there he comes everyday, buys nine coffees each of them different and he always, always flirts with her.
"Any chance of me knowing your name today?" He leans on the counter.
She shakes her head, "Nope."
He shrugs, "Okay B.B, give me the usual."
She once asked him what B.B. stands for and he said Brunette with Blue eyes. Very unique just like him.
Victoria makes the coffees and Louis comes to her mind as she makes the only cup of black coffee. That's how he drinks it back at the apartment. She sighs, she's been feeling terrible all day because of how she yelled at him in the morning, he didn't deserve that.
