Happy Ending, A Moment

Imagine.

It's 2030. You're 33 years old, already married, and sitting on on a beach with your husband. You take a sigh of relief as you finally get a chance to relax fully and let go. Life has been going in a whirlwind as you tried to keep up with your job and marriage. But it's been a pleasure to be doing both: being a doctor and being a wife. They wore you out but also gave you the energy to carry forward. Carry on and forget all your scars from the past. The past does not matter anymore. You have everything you had ever wanted in you life: love, job, money. And you feel happy and satisfied. This might not last very long, but that's okay. The storm of the past has passed. So the storm of the future will be gone too, one day.

You look at those shining eyes that stare at you with love and realize that life had given you better things than you had actually asked for. You move closer to your soulmate and give him a surprise peck on the lips. Instead of being confused, he smiles. He understands that you do this, unlikely things at unlikely moments. But it's Italy, people don't really mind the PDA. Besides it's the one thing that made him fall for you in the first place. And he feels happy. Happy to have the warm breeze from the sea embrace him, just as you run you hands through his hair. He is thankful to God for the bloody good luck he ended up striking. A gentle and gorgeous wife, a great job and a supportive family. His teens might not have been the happiest moments of his life, but they taught him to value his gifts and work hard to preserve them. And he does. He hustles everyday to ensure you're both safe and happy as you climb the stairs of success while holding each other's hands.

Life seems to have slowed down a little for now. Under the setting sun of Tomrina, far far away from the hectic urban life, you realize, you have made it. Made it alive this far. All those tears filled sleepless nights are way behind you. All of your insecurities have burnt to earth. All of your worries have disappeared for the present. All you have endured has been worth it. Just for this one moment, it's all worth it. It's you, him and this moment that matters. You pull him in for a full kiss and let the rays of the sun engulf you in it's energy as you become one with this nature. You, my love, have lived your life just like you wanted to.
