Ya Snooze You Lose /: Chapter One

It was 6:00 am and nobody came to wake me up.

I usually wake up at 5:00 for school so I can have an hour to get everything together but nobody came to wake me up. Not my mom or my dad or my aunt Marie. Not a "Cooper it's time to get up buddy!" Or "Cooper get off of your ass and get ready for school!" Or "Coop Coop get up babyy~" Nothing!

I sat up in my bed as I look around. I got up and turned my lamp on. Why is it so...quiet? Usually my dad would be listening to the radio downstairs in the living room having it blasting. My aunt Marie would be in the kitchen laughing at the talk shows while making breakfast and my mom would be complaining about having to go to work. So I slowly opened my door as I listened out for the radio. Nothing. So I grabbed my phone and walked downstairs to the kitchen. My moms not complaining about work and Aunt Marie isn't laughing at talkshows and making breakfast.

"Okay this is weird..."

I opened my phone and went on Instagram. No new posts? Nobody posted?? How is that even possible? I went to the group chat of all my friends

CoopaTroopa25: Anybody awake??

I waited patiently hoping that this was all a dream and I wasn't late for school for the first time of junior year. I look outside as I realize that it's still fairly dark which isn't that concerning since it's winter. I look back at my phone as I see my friends typing.

CoopaTroopa25: HUNTER!! THANK GOD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!
CamouflageGodtmtm: I'm awake and Micah is awake but like...my mom and dad aren't awake and they won't wake up I'm scared..
CoopaTroopa25: DUDE SAME!!! Aunt Marie isn't even awake and you guys know how much of a early bird she is. Especially you Matthias.
CamouflageGodtmtm: Yeah..is Ryan awake?

CamouflageGodtmtm: I'm surprised you aren't worrying about your partner Hunter ;)
thehunternotthehunted: okay 1. they're not my partner. 2. i will walk to your house and punch you straight in your jaw.
CamouflageGodtmtm: ....Please don't ;-;
ryanyouidiot: what are you two fighting about now?
CoopaTroopa25: RYAN!!!!!!!
ryanyouidiot: jeez what do you want?
CamouflageGodtmtm: Are you awake?!?!
thehunternotthehunted: no matthias i've actually been dead this entire time -.-
CamouflageGodtmtm: ...So Ryan's awake!!!
thehunternotthehunted: is damon awake?
ryanyouidiot: yeah he's right next to me playing on his DS...my mom didn't wake up yet and i didn't get any notifications from any social media apps which is weird.
CoopaTroopa25: Dude!! When I checked Instagram literally nobody has posted! Even people that I follow that's in different time zones!! This is really creeping me out man!
thehunternotthehunted: calm down cooper. how about we all meet at my house
CamouflageGodtmtm: Sounds like a plan. Micah and I will be over in five minutes.
ryanyouidiot: hunter you do realize that i'm like an hour away from your house walking distance right?
thehunternotthehunted: you can walk lazy ass

CoopaTroopa25: Guys!! Stop arguing! We're meeting at Hunter's house. Ryan be careful!

I grab my headphones and my backpack full of survival gear because Hunter made a rule that if you don't have your "Survival" backpack when you visit him then you can't come over.
He's just really in to action and survival movies like Indiana Jones.

As I grab my keys and walk outside I see that there are no cars on the streets, no early opening corner stores are open, no school buses, and no kids who are late like me rushing to get to school. What the actual hell? This is freaking creepy. Is everyone in the world asleep?
I walk down five blocks and turn the corner as I reach Hunters house. I ring the doorbell as he immediately answers and looks at me.
