"I went home that night, my parents yelled at me for being past my curfew, so I got sent up to my room with not even a hand shake goodbye.
"Later, the maid, Angela, brought me some bread and milk secretly. My parent's idea of punishment was starving me. Although I was a size two, my mom wanted me to be skinnier. She called me fat, she'd discourage me, she'd brainwash me thinking I was the bad one. I had to be the most popular girl, I had to always be nice to everyone, I had to be the prettiest. But I couldn't, ever, have a boyfriend? it was stupid. My parents were stupid. They were strict, very. I started to eat the bread, slowly.
'Miss, I see they way your parents treat you it's-'
'Angela!' my mom yelled angrily from downstairs.
'I must go, Miss.' and she left, I remember her face. It looked frightened.
As I ate the bread, Michael popped into my head.
I smiled. Then I noticed- he was the only guy that ever made me smile. I couldn't smile to boys, my parents forbidden it.
It was like my world was one big thing with a 'NO' spraypainted across it.
When I finished my 'dinner' I turned off the light and fell asleep, crying.
