As a 19 year old girl the nighttime was her playground. Every other girl within Violets age range was probably getting ready to go out for the night or engaging in a certain activity with their boyfriends.
For Violet this wasn't the case. She was a 19 year old virgin, shed never had a boyfriend. She pulled her long brown hair up into a ponytail and put on her work uniform for her shift at her local bar.
She sighed throwing her phone and a body spray into a bag. She wasn't ugly nor was she repulsive in anyway. She had in fact been asked out on a number of occasions but she never really had any interest in boys or dating them.
Throwing her bag into the passenger seat of her car she got in, making her way to her 6 hour shift. She arrived at the bar at exactly 9, entering via the staff entrance.
"Hey Violet" Holly greeted her as she put her bag into a locker.
"Hey, you just heading home?" Violet turned to look at Holly.
"I was just finishing wiping the bar down before leaving. Well have fun." Holly Smiled at violet before heading out.
She took her position behind the bar. "Hey violet" Tom her boss and the manager called to her.
"Hey Tom." Violet smiled.
The bar was quiet as usual at this time, with just the few locals scattered around the dimly lit rooms.
Only 2 hours later the bar was like a completely different place. The older locals had been replaced with young, lively groups of people. Violet smoothly went from order to order, making each drink as requested, the business not having an effect on her.
The queue of orders died down with only the return of a member of one of the groups approaching the bar to keep her busy. She leaned against the back of the bar calmly when she was suddenly gestured to.
A man was sat at the end of the nar. During the bustle of groups of people ordering she hasn't noticed him take a seat there. On the stop
next to him sat a women, she was sat on the stool side wards in a way that meant she was able to face this man. The woman was also leaning forward at an awkward angle just so she was able to a most lounge on him lazily.
Violet walked to towards the two.
"What can I get you?" She looked between the man and the woman to see who would reply first.
"I'll have a glass of white wine." The woman's voice was hoarse suggesting she was older, around mid 30s.
Violet nodded "Anything for you?" Violet changed her attention to the man beside the woman.
"I'm fine, thank you." Violet was taken aback for a moment by the mans voice. It was husky and very attractive. He was also very formal with his words and tone of voice.
The woman cleared her throat and it was then that Violet noticed she had been staring at the man.
"Ah, Sorry!" She turned and began preparing the white wine.
He had dark brown hair that just passed his ears and was messily styled. His chocolate brown eyes had seemed to be wiser than his years and sparkled intriguingly.
"Here you go." Violet slid the glass of wine across the bar to the women.
Violet returned to her usual position behind the bar. The women seemed mismatched for the man. She had bleached blonde hair and dull green eyes, her dress was a trashy hot pink colour and stuck to her body unflatteringly. Violet glanced in their direction.
