It was a peaceful day,
There was a soft breeze flowing through the trees that surrounded the area.
The park of where you had come one night to get away from the world may have been beautiful at night but was always stunning to see everything it held in the light.
Once more you had found yourself here. But not because of the need to have a breather but to take in natures gift to the world, yes this park was beautiful both night and day.Leaning against a large oak tree your (E/C) eyes skimmed the grounds before landing on a certain area, a soft smile making it way on your lips as you recalled the night you had met a new friend, Hitoshi Shinso.
Since that night you had both exchanged numbers and kept in touch, meeting up here from time to time, this was not one of those days. Both going to different schools was difficult for the two of you to hang out as much as you would have liked. It was after school hours now and no one except your family knew where you were, your day had been peaceful so far, but you were worried about going home and dealing with reality, as blessed as your day had been, you had mountains of assignments to finish by next week.
Letting out a quiet sigh, you slid down to the soft grass and leaned your head back on the bark of the oak tree-and stared up at the sky as it's colours slowly dimmed into a light orange.
A familiar short tune ended that silence.
Taking your ancient device of a phone out your pocket, you felt yourself feel a bit more better as you watched your best friend spam you with pictures of your favourite character, sending them a quick thankyou in return. Your attention however was cut short as you heard the sound of footsteps walk down the dirt path towards your direction.
Tensing up you glanced over to the direction only to quickly relax seeing a familiar mop of purple hair in your field of vision.
"Shinsou, what are you doing here?"
You rose an eyebrow at the sight of your friend, but it wasn't too surprising that he would have figured out you had come here after school.
"I wanted to see you"
Was the short answer you had received to your question. Rolling your eyes in a amused manner you moved over a bit so he could take a seat beside you before looking back ahead at the scenery in front of you. You were happy to see him, today especially.
Being around Shinsou brought a large amount of peace to you, he was serenity in your view. Looking to your right at the tall UA student you smiled at him as you took in his appearance."Didn't sleep again huh shinsou?"
Jumping slightly, Shinsou turned to you with a sheepish smile crawling on his lips before he spoke in a guilty tone.
"No, I couldn't. I had to stay up and finish off my studies for an upcoming test..it could help me out with becoming a hero.."
He mumbled the last part as if it was shameful to say out loud, which made you frown and place your hand on his shoulder. At the sudden contact his purple hues locked with your (E/C) eyes.
"I think you becoming a hero would make a big difference in today's society, and I'm going to be there to support you every step of the way. But do try and get some rest, I don't like seeing you half way asleep as soon as you get to relax." You spoke sternly and your gaze could rival a mothers if compared.
Shuffling your position, you made sure your thighs were together as you gently pat your lap, a silent demand for him to rest.
Letting a soft laugh of defeat escape from his mouth, Shinsou moved till he was in a lying position and rested the back of his head on your lap.
"Fine, I'll take a nap. But if you're legs get numb don't blame me okay?" He grinned up at you.
Smiling back in response to his statement, you hesitantly brought your hand toward his purple locks before soon finding them gently brushing trough the tangled mess.
Shinsou smiled as his body began to relax and let a sigh of content fall from his lips, his eyes shutting as he relaxed in his current position.
Looking back up you noticed the sun had begun to leave the view of the area you were in, it's traces or light leaving behind a Orange and golden mix in the sky above. Humming a song quietly as you kept brushing through Shinsou's hair, before your gaze dropped back down to him. He looked peaceful, and your heart fluttered at that notice.
Only flinching slightly as his piercing purple hues opened and stared up at you, there was a emotion you couldn't quiet place in that moment, but it was there. Blushing lightly at being caught staring you looked away sheepishly only to have your attention snap back as you felt his hand take hold of the one you had been using to comb through his hair.
You watched in curiosity as he reached into his school pocket and pulled out a small box .
"No peeking" was all he had to say for you to shut your eyes.
When you felt something slide over your wrist you opened them and stared down at what was placed around you.
It was a bracelet.
"I stayed up all night making it. I know I'm not that good at making things, but I wanted to make something for you." His voice was soft, you could have easily mistaken it for a whisper if not for the distance.
Using your other hand you lightly traced the patterns that were on the strap with an expression of gratitude.
"Shinsou, you know you didn't have to get me anything right?"
He hummed in thought before merely shrugging.
"It's not that I didn't have to, it's that I wanted to."
You smiled down at Shinsou and muttered an appreciative thank you and inspected the handmade gift more.
"Happy Birthday (Y/N)."
Birthdays didn't need to be fancy or boasted about, Shinsou being there for you was more than enough.
Because to you,
today was just another day.But now it was something more.
