Issac Asimov, born January 2, 1920, was a particularly important man after 2031. The first reliable androids were manufactured on that year,and were mass-produced the year after. He is important because he invented the Laws of Robotics, coined in his book I, Robot. They are as follows:

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

    However, after the First Eastern War, military engineers began to cut corners on these laws, finding more and more loopholes until they perfected the Infantry Drone, Mk. 1. Never mind that it went directly against every single law, here was a weapon that could turn the balance of power heavily in the user's favor. So military judges turned a blind eye to its massive inconsistencies and pressed it into service, for better or for worse.
