Walking down the road she was admiring the beautiful golden colors of the plats that surrounded her as it was the middle of November and nature was just starting to die. The flowers were closing their petals, the birds were leaving towards warmer places and the leaves on the trees started falling to the ground. The autumn had arrived.

Passing by the benches she was headed towards a gigantic building located next to the road. No cars were passing by and not a single soul was to be found. Only her and her heavy bag that she was carrying for at least an hour since you could tell by her body that was shaking from exhaustion.

Suddenly, an old red Toyota passed by lifting up all of the golden leaves that were laying on the ground in the air. Some of them fell on her making her drop her heavy bag and cover up her eyes with her palms. When she opened them up, the car was nowhere to be found. She then realized the door of that huge building was right in front of her. She forcefully pushed it towards the inside and entered the construction panting heavily. Soon after, she took off her coat and held in pressed to her chest to keep her warm as she was walking down the cold hallway.

The place was full of old books and dusty empty shelves. Files with documents were laying on the floor one on top of the other. the floor was squeaking as if it was close to breaking even though this was the first floor. As she entered the room an enormous area was revealed in front of her eyes. High ceilings, numerous bookshelves with ladders lightly attached to them looking as if they were ready to fall at any moment. Tables in the middle of the room with broken lamps and an enormous dusty chandelier hanging really low without lamps nor candles on it. It was something in between of a library and an archive so full of books yet so empty of people.

As she was walking strictly towards one direction her footsteps could be heard from a mile away by cause of the echo of that place. Out of nowhere, she heard a voice. "Who is there?". The voice was loud, deep and tired. In confusion, she quickly answered with a "Just a costumer" only to hear "We are closed" in return. Rapidly she ran to the sound of that voice and at the end of her path she saw an elder woman with tiny glasses placed on the tip of her nose, reading a book. The old lady raised her eyes and asked "What do you want, kid?" in an annoying tone. As she got closer to the woman's desk she started explaining...

"I have this book and I suppose it's from this library. It's been at my house for more than 30 years and I need to know its story." The lady made a gesture to take the book and she gladly gave it to her. The woman once again looked at her, checking her out attentively and then her gaze immediately landed on the book. She got up from her old, velvet chair and grabbed a small, rusty key that was laying in a wooden drawer full of books. They must have been laying there for quite a while now since they were covered in tons of dust. "Follow me", she said as she pointed towards a dark hallway with her head.
