In the depths of the night the thirteen teenagers crept down the creaky stairs of Grimmauld place into the deserted library. The adults had long since gone to bed along with their suspicions. For the past week the kids didn't miss the curious raises of eyebrows and the inquisitive looks that were being sent their way. The adults knew that something was up, but no amount of question from Molly or sincere talks from Arthur, were going to get the children to spill their plans. A plan that they'd spent the past five days perfecting. For a plan that the twins made to seem so simple, it sure did take a long time, but finally they were ready to break into Hogwarts.
"Are you sure this is going to work?" James whispers into his little sister's ear. Lily resists plugging her nose, as his ratchet breath seeps into her nose. Lily mentally reminds herself to give him a breath mint before he goes to meet Alice.
"Have a little faith." Lily instructs, wagging her finger teasingly.
James huffs and peaks his head around the corner. His eyes scan the empty hallway and his ears listen intently for any indication of someone. Upon seeing no-one, James shuts the library doors and turns to face the rest of the group, who stood crowded around the table.
The Marauder's Map was clutched tightly in Harry's hand, his invisibility cloak in the other. Harry wouldn't admit this to anyone, but he was more than desperate to get out of Grimmauld. He needed to get his mind off of Voldemort, the up-coming war, and Cedric. He couldn't get the images of Cedric and the cemetery out of his head. They haunted his dreams and made going to bed dreaded. He hadn't been sleeping well ever since he arrived at Grimmuald place. His impending trial didn't help the matters at all either.
"Are we clear?" Harry asks, shaking his head of all his self-pitying thoughts.
"Clear." James informs the crew. "As an extra precaution, I put a detection charms on the floor upstairs. If Grandma Molly or someone else steps into the hall, we'll know."
Rose raises an eyebrow pleasantly surprise. "That was brilliant James."
"Always the tone of surprise." James teases, sending Rose a mocking grin.
"Lets go over the plan one more time." Harry lays down the map on the table. "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good." Suddenly ink began to seep onto the once blank parchment. Usually the parchment would be filling up with the footsteps of people in Hogwarts, but the only foot prints were the elves in the kitchen. "Fred and George will apparate all of us into Hogesmeade."
"Except us!" Fred II pipes in, indicating himself, Hugo, Lily, and James.
"Right." Rose leans on the table. "Your job will be to make sure Grandma, Sirius, or anyone else doesn't realize we are gone."
"While their doing that we'll sneak into Honeydukes." Al adds.
"Sneak? You mean break in?" George smirks.
Hermione scowls. "Yes."
Albus, Hermione and Rose hated the idea of breaking into Honeydukes to gain entrance to the secret passage. They resorted to fluffing the whole operation by using words such as sneak in and temporarily borrow the shop.
