(You can listen to Iris by Goo Goo Dolls while reading this chapter if you wish to although it isn't really mandatory.)

The world as everyone had known it, had since been reduced to nothing but ash and bone and Madison Montgomery had never felt more alone in her life. Herself, Myrtle, and Cordelia were all that was left of their coven, the rest having been slaughtered by their new biggest enemy, supposed Antichrist Michael, whose robot minion Ms Mead had ruthlessly killed all of her friends and the love of her life without even batting a fucking eye. She was angry and heartbroken that she had to go through all of this by herself, she ached for the presence of the lanky brunette, who had always known how to make her feel better. She had felt warm whenever Zoe was around, but now all she felt was cold and bitter, which was a terrible combination for someone as lonely as she. Some nights were worse than others, some nights the older witches could hear her quiet cries from the room they had decided to give her by herself but the next morning, they would never say anything about it because they could see how miserable and heartbroken she was at the sudden loss of the girl who saved her life so many times in the past. She was in her room now, holding onto tightly to a body pillow and imagining that it was her girl, her Zoe, even hearing her contagious laughter ring throughout her scrambled and devastated brain. She sat up and felt tears escape from the corner of her eyes, but she did nothing to wipe them away or staunch the flow, she just sat there, looking at the dirty soot covered wall in front of her.

She reached into the front of her dress and pulled out the photograph she had been holding onto since the day she had lost her beloved to remind her to keep going, no matter how shitty she felt when she woke up on a new day. It was the Polaroid that had been taken of them on Zoe's 18th birthday, which seemed a whole entire lifetime away now. She felt her heart break as she gazed at their hopeful expressions and smiling faces, wishing not for the first time that she could rewind time back to that day specifically, and let the brunette know just how much she had loved her, even though she was already very aware of the love the blonde had always possessed for her. She flipped the photo over and ran her fingers over the bumpy and fading words she had scribbled onto the back in a hurry to give it to her girlfriend when she had planned to, although the present was a little bit late anyways.

you're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be.

Madison regretted not saving the whole scrapbook, but she knew with the loss of her beloved still so fresh, so painful, she wouldn't have been able to handle thumbing through the pages. She already felt as if she was drowning without Zoe so she knew that she would have been completely submerged if she had the book as a reminder that she couldn't save the brunette, who had died in such a terrible terrible way, a way that she had wished happened to her instead of the happy and carefree hazel eyed girl, who always seemed to be smiling no matter how bad a situation was. She flipped the picture back over and touched the brunette's smiling face, almost feeling the warmth that had spread throughout her chest whenever Zoe touched her, almost.

"I'm sorry that I couldn't save you. I'm so fucking sorry Zoe." Madison sobbed as she laid back down on the uncomfortable and stiff comforter, holding the photo as close to her chest as humanly possible, falling into a fitful and dark sleep with accusatory screams ringing faintly in her ears as she drifted off.

The next morning Madison woke up with a heart full of determination and green eyes filled with pure hate and rage. She exited the room and placed the photograph back into the pocket on her dress before joining Cordelia and Myrtle in the main meeting room, who were preparing themselves before leaving the bunker in search of the answer to all of their problems. When they left the bunker for good, there was a certain kick to her step. She was going to kill Michael if it was the last thing she ever did,

For what remained of mankind,

For their fallen coven,

For Zoe.

A/N: And that's a wrap! I really hope you all aren't too mad at me for this ending, but I'm sure more than a few of you guessed I was going to go down this road anyways. I'm so unbelievably heartbroken and pissed off that the writers killed off Queenie and Zoe, not to mention the other witches who certainly didn't deserve it. I regret reading so many Michael fics and loving him through those but I hope his crusty ass dies next week and that's that on that! And don't try to call me a fake stan or whatever bc I never stanned in the first place, I just always see myself trying to find the good in MOST characters that are most of the time going to be shitty anyways.

Anywho, thank you for all the support on this book, and I hope to see all of you over in my Zadison one shots fic and future ideas I may have for them. I'd really love to hear your thoughts on last weeks episode and hopes/theories you have for the finale so please comment them if you feel comfortable, although this is a judge free zone. Also vote and comment your thoughts on the ending and if you knew I was going to pull this shit or not.

See y'all on the flip side, all the love.

[ Edit after many months of this fic being published(sorry if you thought it was an update of some sort!!); I've been rereading some of this story as new followers begin their journey of reading it and I'm just now realizing that I based basically the entire premise of this story around a ship from the video game called Life is Strange. The two female main characters from the first game have an *optional *(childhood) best friends to lovers trope driven throughout the course of the game and I can't believe my dumbass never picked up on this while I was writing and I was literally the author of the story. It's not a really important fact I suppose, but if it seemed familiar to anyone while reading, then that's where you've probably seen the plot before. I mean, Madison swearing revenge against Michael for killing Zoe is nearly an identical parallel to all the times Max gets justice for Chloe's *spoiler alert* multiple deaths(completely normally since Max has a power where she can rewind time which really saves Chloe's ass a variety of times throughout the game) and I think it's really interesting how Zadison's relationship in this is not exactly a replica of Pricefield but there are a lot of things that the two pairings share in common, as far as this fic goes anyhow. I know I said I wouldn't publish anything on here for a while, and technically this isn't really an update with any new content, but yeah, that's really all on this aspect of the edit. ]

I also really just want to thank everyone who has supported this story(and the other ones on my profile) as much as they have since I've published them on the site, and I hope you all will follow me into 2020 as I  *hopefully* become a better writer as time goes on. 2020 may be the year I quit writing permanently, but only time will really tell on this as I've been tossing the idea back and forth inside my head for a long time. Thank you to all the friends I've made through this site though, specifically tori, amy, and aaliyah because y'all have supported me the most and my appreciation knows no bounds with any of you. All the love to you three amazing girls, and all the love to the rest of you too. I hope your official start to 2020 isn't going to be as painful as mine will be.
