Chapter 5: Ren Kouen

Kouen just blankly stared at him. He wasn't sure if the man in front of him is an airhead or an idiot. He is observant but at the same time he is not. He had to admit that guy is pretty interesting. He decide to test his theory and get an answer. He did mention 'rukh said' that caught Kouen attention too. But he decided to get the answer one by one "I'm pretty sure I can do cannibalism if I have too." Kouen yanked Antares that was resting on top of the table towards him making Antares sit on top of the low table Kouen's left hand rest itself on Antares cheeks while his right hand still in Antares' left wrist. Their face was dangerously close to each other.

Antares being the oblivious idiot he is didn't get the situation. "What? Is there something on my face or we are having staring contest?" He smiled and raised his eyebrow as high as he can. Kouen just silently observing Antares face. He noticed that Antares eye was actually gold and not honey brown. He has pretty thick eyelashes. His cheeks have a faint but permanent blush. He also had a little mole on top of his left eyebrow hidden underneath his bangs. His lips are almost bloody red it look so soft in Kouen's opinion.

Kouen somehow found himself kept staring at Antares lips. Antares on other hand thinking of stupid trivial stuff. 'Woahh.. he look manly with those goatee.(A/N: Yes I love kouen goatee. It's part of him so yep. Shut up Kouen's goatee hater!) I wonder if I could look manly if I have one. His hair is so red! It's could rival Fanalis! I'm pretty sure he is not Fanalis.. or is he? ..... Nah. He can't be Fanalis since he got a lot of Magoi. Fanalis is more of raw strength than magic strength'

After a few minute they kept staring. Both of them had no sight of stopping. "You know.. You are pretty good with staring contest... my eyes are tired... how did you manage it? Is it because you read a lot?? Maybe I should read stuff more to train my eyes.." Antares ask wanting to blink but he can't since he didn't want to lose. Kouen's eye snapped back to look at Antares eye.

"You can blink you know.. It not like we're having a staring contest in the first place." Kouen deadpanned. "Really? Why didn't you say so!" Antares closed his eyes to rest them a bit his smile didn't leave his face as always. While trying to hydrate his eyes he didn't feel Kouen's right hand on his wrist instead he felt something on his lip it was just a light touch as if someone just give him a peck. Then something slide across his eye brows, his bangs, his mole, his closed eyelids, his cheek bone, then back to his lower lips. He just assumes it was Kouen's finger tips. He is not wrong but not right too.

"What are you doing?" Antares asked his eyes still closed. He adjusted his position so he was sitting crisscross on top of the table. "I'm just observing you face.. I wonder why you looked like a woman. .... I should probably ask that to my youngest brother too." Hearing the last part of what Kouen said Antares opened his eyes.

"Really?! There is another guy that looked feminine just like me? Finally! I have found my kind!" Antares eyes sparkled with excitement knowing that he wasn't the only one that suffered from this feature. "It's get troublesome when you go into the public bath you know. People just stared at you up and down as if you entered the wrong section." He pouted.

A little frown made it way to Kouen's face, it unnoticeable if you didn't pay close attention. He didn't know why he fell a bit upset. Was it because he thought his little brother might get the same attention if he entered the public bath? Or was it because people stared at Antares that way?

"By the way how far was this place and Balbadd?" Antares finally leaned back while looking left and right trying to look at his surroundings. "Quite far away, It would take a few months or maybe a year if you use carriage. What business do you have in Balbadd?" Kouen leaned in the cushions that surround the table.
