*BIG SPOILERS IN THIS! Btw, I don't own Gregor the overlander, all rights go to Suzanne Collins.*

Gregor sat in bed, not wanting to sleep. Gregor’s nightmares had stopped, but they had turned into dreams, good dreams. He did not want the good dreams though, because they would never come true. The dreams were about the underland, and Luxa, Howard, Temp, and Ares. Oh, Ares, the bat who had saved his life countless times. Gregor wished he could just escape and leave the overland, but even if he did go to the underland, Ares wouldn’t be there to catch him anymore. It had been 6 months 7 days and 20 minutes since he had last been to the underland, and his parents were watching him like a hawk. He couldn’t believe it had been so long since he had visited the underland, His grandma was still sick, so they couldn’t move. And Boots asked almost every day “can go see temp?” and Gregor felt terrible when he had to tell her no.

Gregor looked down at all the scars on his legs and arms, and the ones on his chest that the battle of the Bane had left him. Gregor was in a way, thankful for his scars, because them and Boots were the only things that helped him remember that the Underland was real, and not just a figment of his imagination.

Gregor finally got up to make breakfast, because his mom and dad were still sick.

He looked in the cupboard; it had a loaf of bread, oatmeal, cereal, peanut butter, crackers, pretzels, and canned soup. Gregor was happy that they had a full cupboard, and when he looked in the fridge, he realized that was full as well. He took the microwave pancakes out of the freezer and heated up eight, 2 for everyone, Dad, Mom, Lizzie, Boots, and Gregor. He then put them on separate plates and poured on syrup.  When Then he woke everyone for breakfast. Gregor realized that it had been months since he had pancakes. The table was in an awkward sleepy silence, well except for boots who was slurping up her pancakes very noisily. Gregor was thankful for the silence though, because that gave him time to think up a plan. When they had finished breakfast, the plan had taken place.

“Mom, Dad, I am going to take Boots and Lizzie to the park, all right?”

His mom of course said yes, but she did not know which park that Gregor had in mind. Once they were all dressed and out of the building, Gregor asked Lizzie a question “hey Liz, do you want to see Ripred?” she smiled as she realized his plan.

As soon as they got to Central Park they walked straight to the stone slab, and lifted it, inside was the tunnel that led into the waterway. Gregor reached into his pocket and grabbed the small flashlight that he had put in his pocket when he was changing, and walked inside, he closed the slab once all of them were inside he turned on the flashlight and Boots said, “are we going to see Temp?”

Gregor replied this time with, “yes Boots, we are”.
