When Gregor, Boots, Lizzie, and Luxa reached Regalia Gregor was dying to know how Luxa met him at the entryway, and why.
“Gregor, Gregor, we see Temp!” Boots was wiggling in her seat at this point, Gregor couldn’t help but cast a huge grin across his face, as he felt that excited too.
“Luxa, I know this seems like a weird time to ask, but how have you been?” Luxa laughed.
“Well, I spent most of the 6 months you were gone scanning the walls for more prophecies, even though the warrior was dead, as Bartholomew Of Sandwich would have said it. But I still scanned the walls, and I found, well, you will see soon enough “But, I other than that, well, let’s just say that I and Nerissa had a-lot in common.”
Gregor felt terrible, he should have come sooner, and he felt like it was his entire fault.
“Luxa, I should have come sooner, it was tearing me apart, not being here, not being with you, and I had to come, if I didn’t I don’t know what would have happened to me” Gregor said, it was the truth too, he probably would have ended up sleep walking here at some point, and if that happened, he gulped just to think about it.
Eventually they reached the palace and landed, by now, he knew the whole palace by heart. That was the first time he got a good look at Luxa, she seemed very skinny and tired, she had dark circles under her beautiful purple eyes, but she didn’t act like she looked, the princess had a fire in her eyes that Gregor knew very well.
“Ripred!” Lizzie was running towards the rat with a big smile on her face.
“Lizzie?” he said in surprise.
“I am sorry that I didn’t bring you anything to eat, I would have saved some pancakes for you if I knew that Gregor was going to take us here” Lizzie was now hugging him
“I wasn’t informed that I would be seeing you here” he said smiling, but he seemed annoyed that Luxa didn’t tell him.
“Hey Ripred” Gregor said running over to him.
“Gregor, the Warrior is back, let’s have a party, my bond didn’t tell me you were coming, or else I might have gotten you a present or something.” He said in his usual sarcasm. Gregor laughed, he was actually very happy to see the rat although Ripred would probably be mad that he hadn’t been practicing his echolocation. “Temp!!” Boots screeched, running over to the cockroach. “Princess!” He exclaimed, she instantly hopped on his back.
“Ripred, I would have told you if I was fully sure that Gregor was coming, and if I had gotten everyone’s hopes up for nothing, I would never forgive myself.” Said Luxa “have you seen, Vikus lately?” she was hoping to have him there, as the first place she was to go was the opening to the overland, she didn’t have time to tell Vikus about the second room of prophecies.
“Yeah, yeah, he is in the dining hall” the rat replied. Luxa started running, and Gregor followed with Boots riding on Temp.
“Gregor, can I stay here with Ripred, please?” asked Lizzie,
“Um, sure” he said and went to follow Luxa. Gregor was confused, how did Luxa know he was going to be there? He had no idea.
When Gregor, Luxa, Temp, Boots, and Aurora entered the dining hall, Vikus froze and looked at Gregor, Vikus was surprised, and he knew Gregor would probably come back one day, but he didn’t know that he would be back so soon. Luxa was smiling, she seemed excited, but he could also tell she was worried about something.
“Gregor, how nice to see you, and little boots too” said Vikus “I knew you would be coming back, but I didn’t know that you would be back so soon”
“Well, I couldn’t be in the overland any longer, I kept having dreams and I just couldn’t take not being here, plus, Boots reallywanted to see Temp” said Gregor.
“Yeah, I wanted to see my Temp” said Boots hugging the cockroach, and he seemed very happy, too. “Princess loves me she does?” asked Temp, “yes, Temp, I love you!” she pulled out a cookie that she must have had in her pocket for a long time, and gave it to the roach, Boots insisted that he eat it, so he did whatever he had to do to make the princess happy.
“Vikus, Gregor, I have something that you need to see, follow me” said Luxa, making a hand motion for them to follow her, so they did. By this time Gregor was really confused.
They kept walking until they reached the prophecy room, “what are we doing here?” he thought, “all the prophecies with me are done” or so he thought.
When Gregor saw the new room with prophecies all about him, he was speechless, and when he finished reading the prophecy he felt like he was going to go crazy.
“What is a breather?” Gregor asked confused.
“A breather is what you overlanders call, a dragon.” Said Vikus, Gregor felt like fainting, for all he knew dragons weren’t real! And even if they were real, they were even bigger than the Bane! And Gregor went through enough loss with him. Vikus spoke up “well, this prophecy is quite simple to decipher, Gregor, can you tell me what you think of this?”
“Well, there is a dragon, and um, we have to kill it before it comes to kill us?” Gregor replied, he had gotten used to so used to confusing prophecies, that this one seemed very easy to tell what it meant, either that or he had read so many prophecies that his head just automatically figured it out.
“Yes, now we have to find out who is coming, who all did you bring Gregor?” said Vikus.
“I brought Liz, and Boots.” Gregor replied.
“So, the warrior of course, is you Gregor, the killers, or as we prefer to say, humans, will probably be you, Luxa, Howard, Lizzie, Hazzard, and Boots, the crawler will be Temp, as he never leaves Boot’s side, and I can only think of 2 flyers that are going, Nike and Aurora, but you will need a few extra bats,” Vikus looked at Luxa, as if they both knew something he didn’t. “And the gnawer will be Ripred, but I am not even sure what a sniffer is, nor who the seventh human is” he continued.
“I guess, that’s that then” said Gregor, still not sure of how to feel.
