Chapter 1

My name is Taye Davis. I just got my first client at the office. I am a lawyer and partner at the S&T Law Firm and Associates. Im one of the biggest paying partner that this company has ever had.

I was at the law firm that this company was in competition with for years. Until last week. I need more money to take care of me and my family. I have a beautiful wife of 10 years. Her name is Nia Davis.

She means the world to me. And we have our 16 year old daughter Makayla. I love my girls and would do anything for them. Nia is also a lawyer. She makes very good money and I met her 15 years ago on a trial we had together.

The first time I saw her I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world. Of coarse I tried to get those digits she turned down a brother. But I kept on for about a year and she finally gave in.

We dated for a few years and then I popped the big question and she said yes. We have been happy ever since. Then 16 years ago we had my amazing daughter. She gets straight As in school and she has her own job now working at Victoria Secrets.

Of coarse she is spoiled but she's very much like her mom. When she wants something she goes out and get it. There was a knock on the door.

Taye:
"Come in." I said.

And here's my partner coming in now.

"Come have a seat Stefan." I said pointing at my chair.

Stefan Short was my partner. He has my back 100%.

When we first moved here I met him first. He's actually our next door neighbor. Him and his wife Sanna Short has shown us nothing but love since day one.

"So what brings you in man?"

"Nothing much just came by to tell you we have a new client and they will come by on Monday for consultation." Stefan said intertwining his fingers.

"But I also wanted to invite you and family over for dinner tonight. I'm gonna throw some meat on the grill and we can talk over some things. How that sound?" Stefan asked smiling.

"Oh man that will be great. I'm sure Nia and Sanna will have plenty to talk about. And the girls too. How's Rachael doing anyway?"

"Man she's spoil as ever." Stefan said smiling.

"Yeah I bet she is." Taye said back. "Well let me call Nia so she won't make plans and we will definitely be there. What time you want us to come by?"

"How about 6?"

"That cool with me man." Stefan said standing up.

"Do you need me to bring anything?"

"Yeah bring some drinks and you."

"Ok cool see you later." Stefan said walking to the door.

"Alright man." Taye replies.

"I'm actually gone for the day so if you need me just hit me up on my cell." Stefan said.

"Ok man see you."
