Tan Lines & Good Times

Holla at your boy. My name's Alix & this is one of 3 stories I've written. One of them I finished it's called Dazed an the other one I failed to finish whoops. Ever since I can remember my family has spent a week up at our cottage right after school ended.

We always make trips up there on weekends and stuff but this was the one time the whole year where we actually stay for a whole week.

My mom, dad, brother named Jessy, his friend Colton, my friend Amanda and I climbed into our big black van and headed up to the cottage.

Our cottage was in Muskoka, Ontario which was a two and a half hour drive from where I lived in Oakville.

Amanda and I were in the comfortable chairs in the van while Colton and Jessy were jammed in the back. They were basically sitting on each other it was so squishy.

"Hey guys! Get in this vine." I said pulling out my phone and opening the vine app.

"Hey guys! I'm on my way to my cottage. Hope you're all having a great summer. Love you." I managed to squeeze into the 6 seconds.

Over the past 9 months I'd become very popular on this app called Vine. I had 800K followers which was a crazy amount.

Most of my viner friends had missed a lot of school to go to shows and tours but my parents were very strict about me staying in school. But now since it's summer I can travel to whatever tour I'm invited to. Which is exactly what I'll be doing July 10th when I head to Vidcon. I was excited to finally meet all the popular viners like Destin Conrad, Nash Grier and all his buddies, Jack Dail and the pressplay tour people. There were soooo many people I was going to be able to finally meet.

I was so happy to be apart of the Vine family even thought I'd never really met anyone apart of the family and I knew I had great things in store but until then I was excited to spend a week away from everything up at my cottage which is my favourite place in the world.

We spent most of the drive blaring music, eating and playing I Spy because what else are you supposed to do.

Before I knew it we pulled into our two story cottage on the water. I hopped out and grabbed my stuff. Our neighbors had just arrived too but they were new neigbors. I guess the Turner's really did sell their cottage.

I had become close with the Turner's ever since my family bought this cottage but they were getting bored of the cottage life I guess so they put it up for sale.

I was so excited to go over and say hi so I put my stuff in the bunkie that Amanda and I would be staying in. It was a little sleeping room attached to the cottage but it was only accessible from the outside.

I put my stuff to the side and shotgunned a bed before Amanda could. I laid there for a bit and took in the campfire smell that always floated in the cabin. I waited for Amanda to walk in to the cabin but after several minutes she never came. Finally, Amanda came running in.

"Sierra!" She yelled as she pushed open the door and collapsed on the floor.

"Amanda, bruh what is your issue. You're acting like you saw a bear." I said giggling as I moved her stuff to a different bed.

She pulled herself up off the floor and ran over to me. She grabbed my shoulders and stared at me with her big brown eyes.

"You're never gonna believe this!" She belted out.

"Oh my god Amanda, what is going on." I said starting to get annoyed.

"I'm almost positive that your new neighbour is Shawn Mendes!" She then proceeded to climb on her bed and jump like a maniac.

I stood there shocked. There's no way that Shawn Mendes who's a bigger viner than me found my quaint paradise. If it's really him, it would be amazing.

I didn't want to get my hopes up so I tried my best to tell myself it's probably not him but I could hear the little voice in my head saying "OMG OMG SHAWN MENDES PLEASE BE MY NEIGHBOUR OMG OMG."🙅
