Chapter 2

                                                                       Chapter 2

I woke up to the sound of my blaring alarm. I slammed it off and winced as I tried to lift my head. I knew I shouldn' t have drank yesterday...now I have a stupid hangover. UGH..I have a school today! Way to ruin the day...I better get ready now.

I slowly got up from my bed and headed to the bathroom, grabbing a random pair of clothes on the way. I stepped into the shower and let the water pound onto my body. I did my business and then pulled on a short ruffly black skirt with a plain white shirt tucked in. I added my golden necklace and pulled on my red converse and headed downstairs to the kitchen. I saw my mom in standing behind the stove making who-knows-what.

"Hey mom", I said.

"Hey honey. I' m making pancakes",she said.

"Okay",I replied.

After I had scarfed down every bit of pancake there was, I headed out the door.

"Bye mom",I said.

"Bye Amber!" she said.

I ran outside to be greeted by Ben and his white Toyota Prius...that' s weird...I usually walked to school. Oh well, I' m not complaining...he looked hot today...like every other day.

I walked towards Ben and stood there just staring at him.

He cleared his throat and said "Hi Amber"

"Hey Ben. What are you doing here?", I asked.

"Well, I came to give you a ride to school. Thought you would need it" He grinned.

"Uh huh",I glared at him.

He walked to his car while I yelled "Shotgun!"

Ben turned around and just looked at me then started laughing. "There is no one else, of course you are sitting in the front with me"

"Whatever, I just wanted to break the tension"

"There is no tension",he said.

"Uh huh",I replied

We both got into his car and drove off to our destination,school. It was very silent in the car, only the faint humming on the radio was audible.

"So...uh did you and Kevin...?" Ben asked.

"Did Kevin and I what...?" I replied.

Ben grunted. "You know what I' m talking about"

"No,I don' t", I said.

"Sex...did you and Kevin have sex?" Ben said.

My eyes went wide as the realization hit me. "Are you crazy?! All he did was drop me off home and tuck me in bed. Nothing more, nothing less. I' m not that kind of girl"

"Well you were drunk...but okay...if you say so",Ben said.

We remained silent throughout the whole ride. Finally we arrived at school, and you could see the kids gathered around the usual hangout, the hallway filled with lockers. I jumped out and Ben followed me as we made our way into our school.

"Amber!" Christine and Meridith squealed.

"Well hello to you to" I replied.

"Guess what??!!" They said in unison.

"What?" I said.

"There is a new hottie in school!"
