I Look Up At The Stars (Short Story)

I look up at the stars...
And wonder if your looking down at me.
I like to pretend you're watching me from heaven and protecting me during my hard times, and laughing with me during my good time. I always wondered if i'll ever hear your laugh again or even see your beautiful smile... just one more time.
I look up at the stars...
Hoping your happy with all I have accomplished, all I've done for you through the years. I've continued your work for you. I know this isn't what you wanted me to do, but I had to. I couldn't just sit here and guilt trip myself about what happened to you. I know this was all my fault, and I couldn't forget the past...even though I had to think about the future. I tried my hardest but I just couldn't. Just know I miss you.
I look up at the stars...
And think about all of the fun we had together. Like the time when I taught you how to bake a cake, or the time you taught me how to shoot a gun. I miss those days. The days where we couldn't give a care in the world or the times where we had nothing else on our mind... other then each other. I remember the time you took me to my first kill, and the laughs we shared when we saw people screaming in fear of their life. Those were the good days. Those are the memories that I play over and over in my mind.
I look up at the stars...
And I hate that they tell me you never existed, I know all we had was real. They may call me crazy, but im sane. They told me I've killed a nurse but I didn't I killed the bad guy. The one who always made me forget by making me take those shots. I'm not crazy...I'M NOT CRAZY!
I've always dreamt of looking up at the stars...
But I'll never be able to. They say I may be here forever. All I see today is the same white padded walls. Don't worry my love, i'll be with you soon... even if I have to take everyone here with me. I miss you, I can't wait to look up at the stars together.
