Knock. Knock.

Who is there?

The Troublesome Days are here!

Days? Yes, you heard me right. The ‘Days Family’ lives right next door to me. It's been six months since they shifted to my apartment but I feel like I have known them for years, especially ‘Grumpy, Old Mr Monday’.

He is the definition of bad luck not for himself but for others. Seeing him on a nice, sunny day and before you know it, you are drenched in rain. The crotchety man will always greet you with a scowl on his wrinkly face. If he is in a better mood he will have a sneaky glint in his eyes but that is your indication that you should be wary of him, the oldy is good with pranks.

Halloween is the one day when he is at his happiest, playing mean tricks on young children and sending them home crying, not a characteristic of an honouable man. My sister is the one who despises him the most. After all no child will be happy if you fill their packet of gummy worms with real worms. I still remember how she huffed and puffed and tried to blow his house down, but that didn't work out, obviously.

Talking about kids, I still have no idea how his son ‘Religious Daddy Tuesday’ survives in a house with him. Although he loves children, he is (still) really afraid of his big father. The neighborhood kids like to call him ‘The Pussycat’ of the family, but seeing ‘Mr Monday' with his big cane, anyone would die of a heart attack.

As I already mentioned that Daddy Tuesday is a very religious person. The hysterical fact is that he not only believes in one religion but he is a fan of all the religions. In fact that man changes his religion every single month. Like last month he was a Christian and this month he started worshipping the Hindu Gods. But then who am I to complain if his family is okay with it.

The funny thing is that he has a polar opposite sister, ‘Opera Aunt Wednesday’. As you would have already guessed that she is an opera singer, but still she is jobless. She sits at the Days’ house the whole time and when she has nothing interesting to do there, she comes over to our house. She is a nosy, little lady who is always prying about other people's businesses.

A big gossip monger, a rebel and an addict to sappy movies. Every once in a while she has these ‘movie watching marathon’ with her friends. But the irritating thing about this situation is that her bedroom is just adjacent to my room, so that particular night I have to either sleep on the couch or forget about sleeping totally.

Miss Wednesday is jealous of her sister in law ‘Perfect Mrs Thursday’. As the name suggests she is perfect in whatever she does.Used to be a great pianist of her time and that's how Mr and Mrs Day met, at a piano concert. They say it was ‘Love at First Sight’ and I wouldn't deny it with the way both of them look at each other.

A great mother, wonderful cook, caring wife and most importantly a lovely human being. There's is nothing in this world that she can't do, you just name it.

Now to introduce one of the most dashing members of the family, ‘The Prominent Football Player Friday’. The typical high school kid and the first born(adopted) member of the Days. Even though he is adopted, that information doesn't bother him because as I said before Mr and Mrs Day are great parents.

I'll let you on a little secret, that guy has been my crush ever since the family moved here. However when I got to know that he isn't interested in girls, my any chance with him, flew out of the window.Despite of my crush crushing my dreams, it hasn't stopped the other girls from ogling at him. Everyone wants him but nobody can get him.

Friday has siblings too, my favourite members of the family, ‘The Days Twins'. ‘Saturday and Sunday’, both of them like me love lazing around and detest going to school. If Sunday is sun, then Saturday is shine.Lovers of chocolate and surprisingly Mr Monday's dearest grandchildren.

Great charmers and the most naughty pair you will come across.Despite their naughtiness I am still very fond of them.

Six months with them and another, I don't know how many years I would have to cope up with this family.Yet one thing I know that till the time they are my neighbors, we will love them no matter what because in a way they are my sister and I's only family left.
