A Stray || stray kids

prologue

"mommy, daddy? where are you going?" she said, distressed by the luggage her parents had in their hands.

"i'm sorry jiyoo, but me and your dad have to go on business trips. i'll be back in three months and your dad will be back in six months." her mom said, while smoothing down her messy hair from the small girl just waking up.

"jiyoo sweetie," now it was her dad's turn to speak, "can you be a big girl for daddy and be strong while we're gone, okay? i'll have a babysitter come by everyday and a housekeeper come once a week, alright?"

"okay daddy." she answered looking at the ground.

it was scary for her, at such a young age, to think of being all by herself.

"bye! we love you guys!" her parents quickly said. then, they were gone.

"bye, love you too," she said in a quiet voice, because she knew they couldn't hear her.

she turned around to see a face looking at her with large eyes full of concern. her little brother, rinwoo, looked at her wondering what had just happened. before she could even think of an answer, he asked a question to which she didn't even really know the answer to.

"jiyoo, where did mommy and daddy go?" he asked, looking fairly upset for it to be so early in the morning.

"rinwoo, mommy and daddy left on business trips," she said taking him into the living room, telling him exactly what was happening, "which means they won't be back for a long time."

now he had tears threatening to spill out of his large brown eyes.

"what do you mean?" he choked out, "do they not love us anymore?" now the tears were actually starting to fall from his eyes.

"of course they do!" she blurted out, "and they always will, so don't ever think any other way." she was trying to hold in her tears, wanting to be strong for her brother like her dad had told her to.

"o-kay," he said trying to stop crying and wiping the tears from his eyes.

there was a short moment of silence before she thought of something to say to cheer him up then, she spoke up.

"now stop being all gloomy 'cause your older sister is going to make you breakfast." she said with a smile spreading across her face.

"really? yay!" was all that she heard behind her as we walked into the kitchen.

yeet! first little bit of the story. i have literally been planning this book in my head for a long time and i finally got the inspiration to start actually writing it. 

anyway im pretty sure its kinda trash but thats okay i guess.
