Her last words "Save her" echoed through my mind. Suddenly reality stuck me hard. How could I do this to her? How could I leave her in hands of a devil?
A sudden guilt came over me. I realized how rude and mean I was. How can I forget the promise I made her "No matter what I'll always protect you. I can't bear the thought of loosing you." I remember every word clearly.
Here I was crying over my fate without even thinking for once what she must be going through. I left her when she needed me the most. I felt both giulty and angry at the same time.
I had to rescue Clara.. My Clara. But it was impossible to remove her from the clutches of the Duke. We need a plan. We needed to act a lot to make everyone feel all normal. But only if Lady Clara wishes for same. I won't go against her.
At this hour of night everyone would be in deep sleep. I went inside my house and discussed the things with Miss Daly and Mr. Harper.
As soon as we finished I marched towards the Duke's townhouse while Mr. Harper walked towards the stable to get the horses ready. Miss Daly went to the butler to ask him to leave immediately as well and to take a look at the supplies available in the house.
