I woke up with a pressure on my chest. The sky was dark and scary looking and my white hoodie was covered in all kinds of crap. A sigh left from between my lips as I shook my head and attempted to stand up. To my surprise, Megan was the weight on my body. Her smaller frame carelessly thrown against mine.

"Megan, Megan," I tried, giving her shoulder a light shake. Her eyelids lifted up eventually and when the realization set in, you could see the fear as she looked around.

"C-Carson what happened?" she asked, pushing herself to her feet. Not trusting my voice, I shook my head, taking her extended hand. Amelia, Megan's stuffed rabbit that she'd never rid of, was a few feet away. I went to grab her, handing her to an eager Megan who hugged the sewn together cotton fabric in search of comfort. "Wait, where's Trinity?" Once again, I shook my head. That was the unknown. A lot was.

Tears began to form in Megan's eyes and in the heat of the moment, I hugged her. She hiccuped, shaking in my arms. "I-I want Alice." I squeezed her tighter, looking around for the girl in question. Even when I knew in my gut she wasn't around us.

"We'll find her. Come on Megan." I took hold of the hand that wasn't holding Amelia and lead her through the secret entrance that only we knew was there. Once through, we eventually stumbled upon Oliver and Tyler who were in a tree, shaking. Correction, Tyler was shaking. Oliver tried to calm him down as we watched from below. "Tyler? Oliver?" I called, eyebrows threading with concern. What had happened? Tyler began to shake harder, pupils shrunken a huge amount.

"Listen to me Carson, Megan. You two need to find the rest of the humans and run as far away as you can." Oliver instructed, eyes narrowed. I didn't understand.

"Why? What's happening?" Megan asked, tightening her grip on Amelia. "Do it. Please.." He nearly begged. "We don't want to hurt you—" Oliver choked out. Tyler growled, trying to jump down to Megan and I. Oliver pulled Tyler into his arms, shielding Tyler from us or us from Tyler. I honestly wasn't sure.

"Run!" Oliver screamed, starting to shake as well. "If you don't I can't guarantee that you'll see tomorrow!" He gritted out, voice dropping an octave near the end. Megan whimpered, clinging to my side. "Go.." Tyler snapped at us, licking his lips with hungry eyes. Giving us the same look you would look at your favorite food with. What was going on here? I had so many questions...

I took a step forward, opening my mouth to say something but before I could, I was pounced on. My body hit the floor and there was a larger weight on me. I couldn't see who or what, my vision blurred from the quick shift of direction.

"I said leave!" Was all I could hear but it was so loud, almost as if it was being yelled from right next to me. I could feel hot breath on my face and I quickly pushed the thing off and scrambled to my feet.

It was Oliver. Or whatever it was now.

I took Megan's hand and ran off away from the two, wanting to be anywhere but there. What the hell was that? Why were Tyler and Oliver acting so weird? I'm so confused and I need to make sure that Megan is okay. We were both pretty scared and even though she's quiet, I can tell that she's on edge. My head is fuzzy but we can't stop; I swear for a moment I hear heavy foot steps yet blood pumps into my ears too hard.

"Are you okay, Megan?" I turned to look at her yet all I see is a frantic expression on her face.
"I dropped Amelia!" She cries, nearly in tears and I feel her hand try to wring itself out of mine but I grip tighter. We can't stop moving, for anything. "I bet we'll find her later, okay? Let's keep going and see if we can find anyone else." At this, Megan looks torn but I don't give her time. I'm already pulling her in my wake.

"I heard something,"

"Okay and what is that something?" I asked her. She merely shook her head, muttering an 'I'm not sure' and walked ahead of me. I shivered, hugging myself for warmth despite not being cold. Now I was lagging behind.
"Hurry." I stiffly nodded and quickened my pace so that I was walking side by side with her. I kept thinking of Oliver who wanted to protect us. The Oliver I saw yesterday. At least, I think yesterday. Maybe just before. I'm not sure. I wanted to know what had happened to them and if they would be okay..

But that was one of the last times I ever saw them and I wish more than anything I hadn't seen them like that.
