Chapter 50 - I Love Me Some Shane Landes

Bliss' POV

We saw Grayson's admission of guilt on the news. He said everything he said to us. Several companies have already dropped him as a client. He needs to feel the pain. I hope he saved some money.

Shane and I stayed on the couch. We just got up to get food and go to the bathroom. Well, I grabbed the remote too.

"Listen to what I am about to say. We can't let Grayson think he got away with what he did. I'm calling Jacob and Hermione. And I will make sure you don't have to testify. He needs to pay for what he did."

"I don't want anything to do with it. As long as I am not included, that's fine."

So, I got off the couch and went into the kitchen. After fixing breakfast, I sat down and ate some.

About 20 minutes later, Shane came into the kitchen. "I fixed enough for both of us."

Shane fixed himself a plate, then sat down with me. We sat in silence for about ten minutes.

"Jacob and Hermione are starting the process to sue Grayson. Jimmy is going to call me back about the soonest he can come. They said they would make sure not to ask you to testify, but I want you to come with me to New York. I don't want to leave you by yourself."

"They may not want me to testify, but what about Grayson's sleazy lawyer? Do you remember what happened the last time I was in a courtroom?! I never want to go in a courtroom again!!"

I slid my plate away and tried to leave the kitchen, but Shane blocked me and sat me on the counter. "We can't let him just walk away! He may not have been a part of the killing, but he was still a part of the blackmail! And, you saw how much lust he had in his eyes. He wouldn't try anything."

"And we didn't know Alexander would try that either." I couldn't hold my tears in anymore. " I'm tired of the pain, Shane! And Mikayla is still alive in your basement! And add to the fact that Alexander is still on the loose! You said we are finally free, but we're not."

"Listen to me, Bliss. Yesterday, you told me you had had enough and wanted me to let him go. I can't do that. Everybody needs to pay. Let me worry about Mikayla, Grayson, and Alexander. Wrap your arms and legs around me." I did, and we went back into the living room, right on the couch.

"Grayson will be even lucky to find a lawyer to defend him after what he was involved in. We are going to win this battle all the way to the end. I promise. He may even want to settle out of court."

"I'll fly with you to New York, but that's it. The last time I was in your building was before the incident. Do you mind if I visit everyone? And I want to talk to Jillian. They had no right to threaten her."

"We'll take the private entrance. Mr. Charles and Reg would love to see you too."

"Thanks. And I am sorry for yelling."

"It's okay. I understand."

Those were the last words I heard before drifting off to sleep.

My ringtone for Jayson and Tina went off. My phone was on the coffee table, so I slowly got off Shane to answer it in the kitchen.

Bliss: "Hey, Jay and Tina. How are you guys?"

Tina: "We are great, Bliss. Glad to hear you and Shane are back together. We have great news. The makeup line is ready to launch. We have plenty for your website and your New York location. When would you like to launch?"
