CHAPTER 2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the next day rolled around I had only gotten in 2 hours of sleep, I stayed up all night thinking about the fact that I think that maybe my ex-girlfriend just showed up out of the blue after 3 years of avoiding me, to catch me when I fell over, at a dance studio that she shouldn't even know about, after previously smashing my heart by rejecting my proposal after we had been dating for about 13 years, that hurts.
But a few cups of coffee will fix that right away, so I get up of off the floor and waddle out into the living room, I walk past the couch and into the kitchen, the whirring of the coffee machine fills my ears and I sigh happily at the familiar sound. Then it hits me, I didn't turn the machine on.
My head whips around and almost hits someone's chest, I look up and realise that it's the same women from the dance studio yesterday.
"H-how did you get in here?" I stutter stepping back and grabbing a spoon from the kitchen counter and waving it in front of me at the person.
"Dixie! calm down it's me!" the woman says in a calm tone
"Who are you?! I don't know you! Get out!" I say frantically searching for a better weapon
"Dixie... I came back for you... It's me! Naomi!" I freeze at the sudden name, so it is her.
"Why are you here? Come back to break my heart again? make me fall in love with you and then run off AGAIN?!" I yelled at her, I know I'm being harsh but she broke me, she has no right to walk in and out of my life like it's a McDonald's drive-through.
"No don't be silly, come on, I need to explain myself before you do something with that spoon," Naomi says gesturing to the make-shift weapon.
"Explain?!" I shout, enraged that she wants me to listen to her blabber on about how 'the timing wasn't right' or 'I thought it was too soon' I just couldn't handle that nonsense.
"What do YOU have to explain?! You didn't love me, you played my heart for years and then when I try to make it final you walk out on me!" at this point I was screaming at her, venting all that I had kept pent-up inside and letting her take the full hit of her actions.
She looked unfazed if anything she looked chilled out and that at any moment she could go to sleep from being so bored. That's when I snapped, she just wasn't absorbing what I was saying. I didn't want her if she was going to be the same old Naomi. I didn't want her to be so uptight and always trying to change me.
I never really did think about the bad things in our relationship, I was way too caught up in my intense love for her to notice that she isn't a great person. She never let me do things that made me happy, I never got to wear the clothes I liked because she was scared that someone she knew from work would notice her with me and judge my fashion sense, I never ever defended myself so when she walked out I guess she thought that I would be a pushover and let her come and go whenever she wanted.
"I'm tired I just spent the whole night in the cheapest hotel I could find because I had forgotten that this rat infested dump didn't let people in after 9 PM. I don't want to fight. We can talk more after I've had a short nap" She says as she looks me up and down, and I know what her next comment will be before she even says a single word "I also don't want you to dance anymore, look at you, barely any meat on you"
