"We're here," Edward the limo driver called. Mrs. Hollister nudged Sabrina and Renee, who were sharing a pack of nacho cheese Doritos. Mrs. Hollister, Sabrina, Renee and Mrs. Vandersky packed up and left the limo, giggling. Mrs. So tapped on her daughter's shoulder. Lana looked up from her basketball manual and got off the limo with her mum. Emily and her mum were snoozing up in the back, so Edward had to get up and shove them.
"Mrs. and Miss Hart, please get up. I need to return to the hotel!" Edward said, sounding a bit annoyed.
"Sorry, Edward! Emmy bear, wake up, sweetie honey pie, we arrived!" Mrs. Hart woke up and lightly shook Emily's shoulder.
Sabrina took a bottle of sunscreen from her backpack and applied it all over her arms and legs.
Renee and Lana looked at her.
"What? I don't want to be mistaken as an African," Sabrina said.
Emily and her mum finally found the other people. Mrs. Hollister was laying down the towels that she prepared for her best friends and their girls, and Mrs. So was taking out some juice and a yellow beach ball for Lana.
"Hey guys, we have a few things that we can do!" Lana said, twiddling with the beach ball. She threw it to Renee and she caught it.
"We could go swimming!" Emily squealed. "I have my yellow and orange and pink polka dot swimsuit!"
"N-" Sabrina protested as she glared at Emily, indicating at her newly lathered sunscreen.
"Um, Em? Do you want to try out that scavenger hunt nearby? It looks pretty cool," Renee pointed to a big white sign with the words "SUPER FUN AND WORTHY SCAVENGER HUNT" in black.
Emily replied, "Ooh! Oh my rainbow jelly beans! That does sound fun!"
"Good idea!" Lana said. She grabbed the ball back from Renee and handed it to her mum, who put it back into their plastic bag.
Sabrina replied, "Yeah sure, let me just get my sunglasses." She went over to her backpack and pulled out a pair of gold circle frame with pink lens sunglasses. [they're called Round Hippie Sunglasses if you want to search them]
"Wait, I brought them too! Remember that we got them together?" Renee said excitedly, opening her silver Adidas bag and taking them out. Hers were a pair of circle aqua sunglasses with no frames.
They ran towards the scavenger hunt. They arrived to the stall that hosted the hunt, and signed up.
"Oh my god! We should do fake names!" Lana whispered, before they walked up to the stall.
"Oh my god! No. We cannot lie! I'm scared!" Emily whined squeamishly. "Mummy said if I lie, I will grow a long nose!"
"That sounds fun, we should try it," Sabrina said, ignoring Emily's squeals.
"Okay, I want to be... Emma." Renee said, fixing her sunglasses.
"I want to be Kenzie," Sabrina said.
"I'll be Rory, my favourite character in Royal Witches," Lana said.
"Ooh!! I'll be Jojo! She's my idol!" Emily screamed. Sabrina, Renee and Lana looked at her weirdly.
"Who?" Sabrina said snarkily.
"Aww, y'all should watch her! Anyways, let's go." Emily said poutily before heading to where all the participants sat.
"Hello, would you girls like to sign up for the scavenger hunt? It's really fun and it only takes up one day!" A man said cheerfully, gesturing to the prizes that were hanging at the back of the stall.
"Yes!" Sabrina smiled charmingly. The man smiled back and asked for their names.
"Okay then! Would you please tell me your names?" The man said.
"I'm Kenzie," Sabrina said.
"The name's Rory," Lana winked.
"Emma!" Renee said chirpily.
"J-O-J-O J-U-I- I mean- Jojo!" Emily almost burst into a song. The man sniggered a bit but wrote down their names. "So... Rory... Kenzie... Emma... and... Jojo?" The man said "Jojo" the way people would say "Juju".
Emily winked, her left eye shut forcefully and her right eye quivering. "It's Jojo."
Sabrina whispered to Lana, "She got cramps in her eyes!" Lana burst into loud laughter and Sabrina quickly shut her up. "Shut up."
"Let's go," Renee pulled her friends. The man behind the counter came out.
"Hello everyone! Welcome to the scavenger hunt! In this hunt, you need to find as many necklaces hidden in the area inside the green ropes. There will be a timer of fifteen minutes and you have to find as many necklaces as you possibly can." The man waved towards all the participants.
"Unfortunately, this is not a group race." Lana, Sabrina, Renee and Emily exchanged sad puppy looks.
After gathering everyone in a tight little line, the man shouted loudly, "Three, two, one, five minutes go!"
"Rory", "Kenzie", "Emma" and "Jojo" rushed into different areas to find.
Lana was the first one to find a necklace out of everyone. "FOUND ONE!" She yelled as she pumped up her fist from the sand. When she saw it, a green pearl necklace was protruding through the sand.
Sabrina was second. "Got one," She said loudly as she grabbed a dark pink necklace hanging secretively under a umbrella. She put it on her wrist and continued searching.
Renee was third. "HEY!" She squealed as she saw a blue necklace under a rock, only a bit of it was visible. She dove in and grabbed it. Putting it around her neck, she continued running around.
Emily found one right after Renee. A neon pink and a bright orange necklace were in two different spots, and Emily was racking her brains to think. Which should she get? As the man yelled, "Ten seconds!" She immediately ran to the orange one and grabbed it first before diving to the pink one.
After the long five minutes, everyone gathered in to the man, chatting about their necklaces.
Lana has gotten nine necklaces. Red, green, dark yellow, light blue, bright pink, light green, brown and silver.
Sabrina found nine necklaces too. Blue, silver, dark blue, yellow, purple, dark pink, neon green, gold and another dark pink one.
Renee found seven. Dark blue, light yellow, dark green, pink, brown, gold and light blue.
Emily sadly only found four. The neon pink one, green, purple and bright orange ones.
"The winner is Rory!" The man raised Lana's hand, Lana slightly confused because of her fake name.
"Tied with... Kenzie," He said, raising Sabrina's hand too, she smiled proudly.
"Second is... tied with Georgie and Emma!" Renee went up and did a parody queen wave with another boy who had wavy blonde hair. He bowed really low and a bunch of blonde guys laughed with him.
"Third is..." Emily waited for her name to come up. "Everleigh and Ava!" A seven-year-old blonde and brunette pair came up and smiled at each other, high-fiving.
"Nice job, guys! You can choose one necklace each for an award." The man said, packing up.
Sabrina chose a dark pink one, Lana a green one, Renee a light blue and Emily the bright orange one.
"Let's go sit down," Renee said, pointing to their mums waving at them to the newly placed red and white striped beach towel.
"My mum has some nice pretty tissue in her bag, maybe we could lay them down and shake the sand out with it," Sabrina suggested. Everyone nodded and ran to their umbrellas.
Emily's necklace shined in the sun. "This is the best vacation ever!" she squealed.
